✨International Student Spotlight✨ Meet Kristian Dietrich, a third-year Business Administration student from Gorssel, Netherlands. From the moment he stepped on campus, Appalachian State has lived up to his expectations. The cultural shift in the college experience is something that he finds to be more appealing compared to the Netherlands. The strong sports culture and the style of teaching have played a major role in his positive experience, with Kristian enjoying the more direct form of teaching. Kristian, while also balancing his academics, has found a way to stay involved on campus. He has been a part of intramural sports and even participated in a soccer league locally. Kristian has taken advantage of his time here and has been able to explore other cities around the country. He has so far visited Nashville, New York City, Washington DC, Charlotte, and has hopes of going to New Orleans and Miami as well. Looking ahead, Kristian’s plan is to pursue a Master’s degree somewhere abroad, while also pursuing a managerial role in an international organization.
