Mark Cerchione is a certified Fi****ms Instructor through both the NRA and the USCCA. He is also recently retired as a certified Fi****ms Instructor for the Department of Homeland Security / ICE, where he worked for many years as both a Fi****ms and Use of Force Instructor in Boise, Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. ry Police Officer. After the service to his country, Mark worked for many years as a Police Officer for the City of Idaho Falls. There he served as a Patrolman, Traffic Officer and a Detective. Today, Mark is a retired Federal Police Officer and Fi****ms Instructor with The Department of Homeland Security. He was qualified as a "Distinguished Expert" with a handgun through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). For many years Mark taught classes for DHS in General Security Awareness and Active Shooter Response. Other Federal Law Enforcement Training Center certifications include:

Mark has also attended several National Fi****ms Instructor and Advanced Fi****ms Instructor courses around the United States. Mark served DHS as a certified Field Training Officer (FTO), and he is fully certified in CPR, First Aid and AED. An Idaho Native and lifelong sportsman, Mark is an avid elk hunter and Outdoorsman and a licensed Federal Fi****ms Dealer (FFL). He has spent a lifetime learning about fi****ms and firearm safety. He is passionate about the freedoms we have in this great country, and he is anxious to share some of his knowledge and passion with you! Mark writes:
"There are many very talented and qualified Fi****ms Instructors to choose from in Idaho. It is important to choose the right one to meet your individual needs. Many of the Fi****ms Instructors conducting business today are pretty "high speed" guys-- very talented and able to teach some very, very advanced fi****ms skills. I can do a little of this as well, but there are guys around who can do it better than I can. Personally, I prefer to concentrate my efforts more on the folks who are just starting out -- or those just trying to improve their basic shooting skills by mastering the fundamentals. At 60 years of age, I have grown a little tired of the "door kicking -- guns-a-blazing" mentality. I just enjoy teaching people how to shoot well. Teaching the basics of firearm proficiency, with a heavy emphasis on being SAFE! Nothing makes me happier than running into someone who is eager to learn how to properly and safely own and operate a firearm. Great job opportunity! Fi****ms Instructor at FLETC! Live on Saint Simons Island. I’ve spent a LOT of time there and enjoyed every second of it. Fantastic facilities and training! Makes me wish I was 35 -40 again. I’d do it again in a second.

BIG fire out here today. We were in town doing a classroom session. 8000+ acres burned Apparently a truck pulling a boat crashed or caught fire on Interstate 84 about 3 mikes North East of us. The 60-foot wide firebreak around the ranges stopped the fire dead in its tracks, for the most part. The fire got onto our property on the north west corner and burned about 40 acres, but that area has nothing but old growth sage brush. We have to replace a gate and large posts that were taken out by a BLM bulldozer, but other than that we’re good. It actually cleaned out some areas that I needed to clean out anyway. Total damage (gate and posts) about $500 Check out the pics below - how it burned right up to our fenceline and was stopped by the firebreak. Thank you Lord!!! Now we’re are pretty much fireproof for awhile.

RANGE CLEAN-UP DAY! Sunday, April 13th!
We will be having our annual range clean-up day this Sunday, April 13th from 10:00 AM to 2 PM. Totalkt voluntary - but we sure donapprwciatebthe help! We will be pulling weeds, sweeping, picking up brass and garbage and emptying burn barrels. Any help is always appreciated! Karen and I always have a great day when we do this - seeing some of the range members whom we otherwise rarely see! Come on out! It should be a fun day.
