Next weekend: Cali DPC!
If you are a Cali doc or know someone who is and you are not attending- think about it. The crowd is an amazing group of inspired docs and experts and people really doing amazing things in medicine and otherwise.

Heya! Haven't posted much here NOR monitored it but am going to do a wee bit better (perhaps). FWIW, any physicians or medical professional friends who are interested in learning or scaling their aesthetics abilities or procedural abilities, I offer training.
2025 dates are below.
Out of my own love of entrepreneurship, art and procedures I started doing medical aesthetics on the side as I grew my family medicine practice. In 2023 I transitioned to aesthetics and procedural medicine exclusively.
In my own training I traveled EVERYWHERE. and spent A LOT (as in a LOT) of money to get the hands-on, anatomy-focused and expert exposure I wanted and needed to feel very confident in the treatments I provided. Many programs offer very minimal hands-on training and don't have the depth of teaching physicians desire.
To that end, there are a lot of ways to learn medical aesthetics. However, I offer group aesthetics courses that I call aesthetics 101 that is a fantastic wide-spread intro to the practice and business of medical aesthetics for groups of up to 12 injectors.
I also offer 1:1 and 1:2 customized trainings which have been more popular/requested in the last 2-3 years.
Topics include anatomy in aesthetic medicine, neurotoxin (botox etc), filler, advanced filler, PRP, product education or energy treatments (lasers, RFMN), medical weight loss and/or reclamation of procedural skills such as skin excisions, punch biopsies and major joint injections.
First dibs to the DPC community and to peeps on this page.
Dates for 2025 are set and are:
May 22, 23
July 17, 18
August 7, 8
Oct 16, 17
Dec 11, 12
Training is offered on Thursday & Friday & can roll into Saturday based on customization. Generally docs arrive Wed pm and leave Sat or Sun. Training is in Boise, Idaho at my clinic and I provide all supplies, models etc. and more hands on comprehensively than you can get anywhere else.
We will also arrange and coordinate all of your travel (price of airfare and hotel is not included in event price- all food, supplies, treatments, training materials are).
Happy to provide MD/DO references. New website coming soon but prior this was called sparkmd training and details retained here : www.sparkmdtraining.com
DM or message me ([email protected]) for details.

So-- a great thing happened today. My home state and the state in which I hold my medical license (Idaho) has specifically targeted physicians who provide transgender healthcare with threats of legal ramifications and incarceration. This legislative trend in Idaho and other states to threaten physicians is harmful to ALL of us for so many reasons and on so many levels. I could go on and on about that but...
This post IS NOT about that.
This post IS about the power of social media to make connections when they otherwise might not happen.
The The Tyler Merritt Project is an awesome, positive, inclusive, just all around good thing. I've followed Tyler Merritt and the lovely Jen Hatmaker for the last 2 years and they are funny and authentic and inspiring and.... so good. (you should follow them, too! they are amazing).
It's PRIDE month and The Tyler Merritt Project and Tyler Merritt has a line of T shirts for people willing to be loud and proud in support of our friends, family and q***r community (and maybe even in support of ourselves!) I reached out and asked for a - pretty please- "Doctors with PRIDE" shirt. I asked last year, too, but I think it got buried in lots of other excited posts and people's requests.
And, guess what? I asked again and- lickety split- we have a shirt for doctors with pride, too! (thank you!!!)
Give this link a look, please. This is a great shirt for an important month and a great purpose. Let a lot of people know that a lot of people are full of love.

I'm gonna attempt to be REAL brave here and say something that I am *certain* will ruffle feathers, raise questions and create a 'what?' for many.
But I'm putting it out here because I KNOW many of you will get this on some level as passionate, hard working, risk-taking visionaries.
"I was tame I was gentle until the circus life made me mean.. don't you worry folks, we took out all her teeth."
But I can't even being to articulate how. much. this. song. resonates.
"They caged me and called me crazy."
It can be SO, so, so so so challenging being passionate, capable, independent, strong-minded, a visionary AND a leader of similar but also, different leaders.
"And say they didn't do it to hurt me... but what if they did?"
Most of us continue to function/work/survive in a malignant professional culture. Here I am particularly referring to medicine but I have also felt this kind of dynamic bringing joy to other facets of my life. Toxic culture impacts some of us way more differentially than others based on gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or just, personality.
"I want to snarl and show you just how disturbed this has made me."
I hope we, WE independent-minded hopeful people can continue to fully liberate our profession, our own behavior and our personal lives from the toxic interpersonal bu****it that we all (or, most of us) have had to put up with from sports teams, employers, the general public and, most unfortunately, each other.
