Boise In Focus
Capturing the beauty of Boise, Idaho. From scenic hiking trails in the foothills to the urban streets

Would you leave this behind?
Found this pile of crushed cans, foil, and burnt trash right next to a log in the woods this weekend. No fire ring, no campsite โ just dumped and walked away.
We bagged it up (shoutout to the random bookstore bag that became an unexpected cleanup tool), but itโs wild how many people still treat the forest like a free dumpster.
Nature doesnโt have a cleaning crew.
If you pack it in, pack it out.
Itโs that simple.
Would you leave a mess like this for the next person (or the wildlife) to deal with?
Drop a ๐ฒ if you always leave it better than you found it.

๐ฒโจ From golden day to starry night in Boise National Forest โจ๐
Woke up to perfect weather and this peaceful little slice of heaven tucked among the pines. Handmade log benches, a crackling fire pit, and that soft forest light filtering through the trees โ the kind of spot that makes you slow down and just be.
By day itโs all sunshine, fresh air, and simple comforts. As the sun sets, the real magic begins โ crystal-clear skies packed with stars you can only see this far from the city lights.
Nothing beats disconnecting, listening to the quiet, and watching the Milky Way overhead. This is what camping dreams are made of.

๐๐ฒ The perfect detour on the way to camp ๐๐พ
Nothing beats pulling over along the Boise National Forest road and finding a spot like this โ crystal-clear water, towering pines, and a quiet beachy stretch all to ourselves.
My trusty sidekick Dobby the Explorer (official river inspector) had to check the water quality himself. He gives it a solid 10/10 for splashing and rock-hopping!
These little stops along the way always make the whole trip feel even better. From riverside adventures to our peaceful forest campโฆ this is what summer memories are made of.

๐ Just spent the night under the stars in Boise National Forest and wowโฆ words (and pictures) really donโt do this justice.
The Milky Way was so vivid and full it felt unreal. No light pollution, just pure dark sky magic framed by the trees. Moments like this remind you how small we are and how beautiful the universe is.
If you ever get the chance โ go. Disconnect, look up, and let it hit you.

Proper shoes first โ the rest of the day just falls into place.
Started the morning in my Vibram FiveFingers, crossed rocky trails and rushing streams, soaked up the views at Stanley Lake, hit a favorite local hot springs near Lowman, and finished the day with burgers over the campfire.
Thatโs the Idaho way. Good gear, great views, even better memories.
