We are diverse, beautiful individuals. It is possible to be soft, and strong, and brave, and calculated. All attributes, no matter how opposing they may seem, can co-exist. Holding space for ourselves and the diversity within, is one of the beautiful things that can happen on your mat. 🤍✨

Spring Resonance
Sunday, April 13 2:00-3:30pm
Downtown studio

Can you feel it? The call to awaken, expand, and embrace new possibilities. That’s Spring stirring within you—an invitation to move, grow, and realign with your purpose. Join Christine on Sunday, 4/13 at 2pm as we honor this season of renewal together.

Spring is the season of transformation, governed by the Wood element and connected to the liver and gallbladder. In Chinese Medicine, the liver is the master planner, ensuring the smooth flow of energy, emotions, and creativity, while the gallbladder gives us the courage to take action. As nature bursts into life, we too are called to shake off stagnation and step forward with clarity and intention.

Inspired by the wisdom of Spring, this 90-minute workshop includes revitalizing breathwork, imaginative meditation, and a dynamic yet grounding Hatha and Yin yoga practice. Prepare to emerge from winter’s stillness feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to embrace the season ahead.

Investment: $25

🤍Winter wellness is about turning in, not tuning out. Here are some gentle reminders to care for your body and spirit.

🌬️Focus on Breath: Use pranayama to warm your body and calm your mind. Practices like Ujjayi breath can help warm and create a sense of inner peace during your practice.

🧘‍♀️Gentle Flow: Opt for gentle yoga flows that allow you to move with intention. Poses such as Cat-Cow, Child’s Pose, and gentle twists can help release tension while keeping your body warm.

🥰Incorporate Warmth: Use props like blankets and bolsters to support your practice. This added warmth can make your practice more comforting and inviting during the cold months.

✨Nurture Your Spirit: Incorporate meditation or mindfulness practices into your routine. Even a few moments of quiet reflection can help you connect with your inner self and find peace during the busyness of the season.

🏔️Stay Grounded: Focus on grounding poses like Tadasana (Mountain Pose) or Virabhadrasana (Warrior II) to help you feel stable and connected to the earth, enhancing your sense of security in the colder months.

Here are some yoga poses for staying healthy & balanced during the colder season 😮‍💨

☀️Sun Salutations, Chair & Warrior I, II, III to build heat in the body

🐟 Fish Pose to open the chest and throat to help prevent respiratory problems

🛡️Legs up the wall - a restorative pose to boost the immune system

😌Savasana to help calm the mind, relieve stress, and relax the body

🔥Kapalabhati breath to warm the body

🤧Alternate Nostril breathing to balance and calm the mind and nervous system

Repeat this winter mantra: ‘I am grounded, I am serene, I am present in this moment.’ 🤍

In the Yogic tradition, the five senses are considered gateways to the external world and are closely connected to the physical body and the mind. The five senses are:

1. Body: The sense of touch, which is associated with the physical body and the element of earth. 🌏

2. Feeling: The sense of taste, which is associated with the tongue and the element of water. 🌊

3. Perception: The sense of sight, which is associated with the eyes and the element of fire. 🔥

4. Intention: The sense of smell, which is associated with the nose and the element of air. 💨

5. Consciousness: The sense of hearing, which is associated with the ears and the element of ether. ✨

From a yogic perspective, the senses are not just physical organs but are also connected to the subtle body and the mind. The senses can either distract us from our inner self or help us deepen our spiritual practice. The ultimate goal of yoga is to transcend the limitations of the senses and attain a state of pure consciousness or Samadhi. Through the practice of yoga, one can develop awareness and control over the senses, leading to a more balanced and harmonious life.
