Established, high-end aquarium installation and maintenance service company seeks experienced Aquarist to join our team.

The ideal candidate must have experience with Saltwater Fish Only and Coral Reef Environments.

Must have familiarity in all phases of aquarium equipment, including all types of life support systems used in our industry.

Base familiarity with plumbing, electrical, and lite construction.

Familiarity using aquarium controller & monitoring systems such as Neptune Apex is a plus.

Must be responsible, prompt, dedicated, motivated, and detail and deadline oriented. Must have clean driver’s license, and reliable source of transportation.

Immediate Opening- Full-Time and Part-Time Available; Year Round Work.

Compensation- Ranging from $40,000- $65,000 based on expertise. Paid sick days, Paid Vacation, and
Company Vehicle usage for the right candidate.

Primary Duties:

1. Offsite Aquarium Installation
2. Offsite Aquarium Maintenance
3. In House Equipment Maintenance and Upkeep

Minimum Requirements:

1. Professional experience installing aquariums is a must.
2. Professional experience maintaining aquariums is a must.
3. Extensive knowledge of Saltwater and Coral Reef environments
4. Excellent Sales & Customer Service Skills
5. Must be able to assist customers with fish and fish related issues
6. Must be able to assist customers with coral and coral reef related issues
7. Knowledge of fish and coral compatibility
8. Knowledge of fish disease and treatment
9. Ability to lift more than 50lbs.

Israeli scientists have trained goldfish to drive, in a scene out of a Dr. Seuss book An experiment involving a robotic tank on wheels and six trained goldfish may offer insights into animals' ability to navigate unfamiliar environments.

I’m in love with the of this master bedroom including one of ten aquatic systems we have onsite. It’s a lovely tank that’s home to a whole colony of rescued convict cichlids.

A new day and another new to me account. I’ve been on a freshwater tear these last couple days. This one is actually acrylic which is a rarity for us. I for one don’t think I’ll ever prefer anything more then glass but they’re definitely light and clear (when they’re new at least). Today we added new LED lighting and that little flow horn that we’ve been holding for 2 months to make sure he was healthy. Little mans about to be the big boss of his new home.

I want to do more aquascaping in the future. was really enlightening for me. It was so nice to meet so many talented people like and to catch up with some old friends like and All of you are so inspiring to me. I love the reefs and I’m good at them but the naturescape has my heart. I think I might try my hand at a paludarium from in the near future and see how I like that. Anyway I hope you guys like this planted I do in East Islip NY. It’s a 220 with lamps and filtration and CO2 injection. We struggled a bit with some algae but I’m getting things back in hand.

If you don’t already follow Reef Beef with Ben and Rich be sure to head over there and check them out. They’re two of my best aquarium friends and they touch on all topics reefing and maintenance alike definitely worth a follow.
I had a great time out with Ben “comparing notes” while I was in Texas for Aquashella Aquarium Festival If not for this dude I never would have thought designing and building aquariums was a viable career choice. Rich is kinda cool he got a piece of the blue calaustrea from this tank but he lives in a place that makes faucets illegal and cool will only get you so far.
Finally there should be more “ride alongs” in this industry that has so little professional education.

Someone told me I’m a pretty good aquarist yesterday but I think they may have me confused with another person.

Here’s a progress shot of the under stairs tank located in East Hampton NY. I hesitated to post this because I’m not over my threshold of satisfaction with this one but progress is progress. The unique shape of this one has posed a number of problems which all have different solutions with varying degrees of effectiveness. I’m posting this photo now because I’m happy with the direction the tank is going in even if I’m upset that it took this long to figure out. Unfortunately reefing isn’t all roses and sunshine but we’re growing coral that’s for sure.
