FAU Upward Bound

This past week, our Upward Bound Programs had the amazing opportunity to partake in the 4th Annual Xfinity STEAM Symposium! Students had the opportunity to network, meet new people, and even have some fun with the Xfinity staff! We thank everyone that had a role in allowing us to be present for this wonderful event. 💻🧪🗣️💜

On the 2nd and final day of the FAU Upward Bound Ambassadors Retreat in Key West ✨
Our ambassadors stepped into leadership by creating sample ASE meeting activities with budget sheets, participating in a mock debate, practicing confident communication by reducing filler words, and crafting short stories that highlighted leadership and resolution. 🌟 After the hard work, we explored Key West with a trolley tour, experienced the sunset at Mallory Square, and ended the day with a fun and relaxing pool day. 🏝️🚌🌅

Day 1 of the FAU Upward Bound TRiO Ambassador Retreat in Key West 🌴✨ On August 4th, our ambassadors and ambassadors-in-training explored John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, gaining new knowledge and experiences. We wrapped up the evening with a powerful table talk dinner, sharing reflections, lessons learned, and future goals. A strong start to an inspiring leadership trip! 💡🌊 ”

We brought the fun, games, and good vibes to campus with laser tag, bounce house races, face painting, popcorn, snow cones, and more! 🍿🎨🧃 From rock climbing to football showdowns, this carnival was the perfect send-off to an amazing summer. 🎈

She shared real resources, mentorship, and tools to help students find scholarships — and even offered a $500 scholarship exclusively for TRIO seniors!

A night full of laughs, neon vibes, and out-of-this-world masterpieces 💫

TRIO students had the incredible opportunity to learn from TaiQuay Smith Bogle, M.Ed., founder of Mind BOGLEing Educational Consulting. Through powerful exercises and thought-provoking discussions, she challenged students to think critically about representation, advocacy, and identity.

From choosing between Beyoncé, Kodak Black, or Kirk Franklin as a potential motivational speaker (and advocating their pick!) to stepping forward or back in a self-reflection activity—this session was all about owning your voice and your story.

🚓 Behind the Badge with FAU PD!
TRIO students got an inside look at campus safety—from learning how to be good witnesses to understanding how stress impacts memory. 🧠💥 Plus, we met the therapy dog 🐶, toured the station, and connected with officers across different roles.
