Our very own member Connie Siskowski!🩷
On this Saturday’s Let’s Talk Charity I have a conversation with Dr. Connie T. Siskowski who is the Founder and President of the American Association of Caregiving Youth.
Connie Siskowski, RN, Phd
Educated at Johns Hopkins, New York University and Lynn University, her doctoral research uncovered the high prevalence of caregiving by students in Palm Beach County, FL. In 1998 she established what is now the American Association of Caregiving Youth with its successful Caregiving Youth Project and Caregiving Youth Institute. Connie has contributed to multiple publications. Awards include an Ashoka Fellowship, Purpose Prize, Distinguished Alumna Award (Johns Hopkins University), Top Ten CNN Hero, a star on Boca Raton’s Walk of Recognition, and a faculty appointment to the RAISE Family Caregiving Advisory Council.

Welcome back to It all started with one club 🌳 In 1921, over 80 women formed the first Soroptimist club in Oakland, CA — and their first project was saving the California redwoods (they won!). Our name comes from Latin: soror (sister) + optima (best) = "the best for women." Over 100 years later, we're 5 federations and ~66,000 members strong, still driven by the same mission.
