Ozzy has been entered in Training level at Sporting Days in Aiken, SC on 1/6/24. For the past three weeks, Ozzy has been consistently schooling Training level xc questions. He schooled Hunt Club's entire Training level course without batting an eye, and did some of their Preliminary jumps as well. He has been to other farms to school Training level combinations into and out of water, as well as one stride coffins at 3'3”. He will also be schooling Loch Moy's Training level course on 12/16. Ozzy is currently in the middle of the low 5's starting with a 2, which will change once he completes at Training Level.
On 11/11/23 Ozzy scored 28.9 on his dressage test at Hunt Club's Eventing For The Cure Event. He had one rail which was 100% massive rider error (think 50 year old lady who hasn't ridden much since July 1 due to another horse breaking 5 of her ribs, and jumping the fence height for the 1st time during the competition. Not to mention we only 5 weeks to prepare for the event...so a much better result is in there! I did a classic chase the horse for the huge distance with a colossal miss...the horse was a saint to jump!), and was super duper clear xc with a very bold, quick, and confident run!
Sollozzo is an Imported from Ireland Irish TB who looks like today's modern warmblood with thicker bone than the average TB. He is 16+ hands, 7 y/o, and is dark bay in color who has had nothing but professional training since coming off the track 2 years ago. Extreme care has been taken in training him slowly and methodically, and he is now ready for his forever partner in crime! Ozzy is a spur ride for dressage, yet he is very forward and athletic for jumping, and as such he is not for a beginner. Since he was trained to be a Steeplechaser in Ireland, he has jumped the massive 5 rail fences at speed, and he is a xc machine.
Ozzy is a super personable, sweet, and outgoing horse who loves his people. He will entertain the masses with his tongue tricks. He loves to snuggle and wants to be a lap dog. He is great for the farrier, vet, bathing, clipping, trailering, etc. A super bonus is that he is a very easy keeper. He even needs to wear a muzzle during turn out to limit grass intake because he gets fat on air. Recently, he even gave my non rider friend who is dealing with breast cancer a safe supervised pony ride.
Please PM me or call/text 703-283-4887 or check him out at https://optimusfarm.com/competition-horse%3A-ozzy for more info. Located in Bluemont, VA.

***Self Care Board in Bluemont, VA***
$270/mo per horse
Rare openings for self-care board of up to 6 horses available. Current self-care boarders are leaving, as they bought a property of their own an hour away from here, and are bringing their horses closer to home.
Farm has a 12 stall barn, 17 total acres of fenced pastures with run in sheds, lovely 195’ x 95’ riding arena with good footing and superior drainage, and all the ride out / hacking you could ever want and then some. There is also a very spacious hay loft, a tack room to die for with a laundry room and a half bathroom as well as a posh wash stall and a round pen. You would have your own close to 6 acre field with a large run in shed to use however you'd like, as well as a dry stall per horse.
This private and quiet farm is located in a great area which is literally on the same street as some hunt fixtures and is only 10-minutes from the Upperville horse show. Unlimited xc schooling venues as well as horse shows and horse trials within a 30 minute drive. Everything you could ever need for your horse well within reach!
Ideal candidate would be a quiet single horse person who would like to care for their horses, who would also want lessons for themselves and/or training for their horses. Your trainer is welcome, so long as he or she provides an insurance certificate of liability coverage, and has us as a named insured. Our trainer can cater to beginners all the way up to advanced. Use the vet and farrier of your choice or ours.
We do have an RV hook up for temp housing. Tenant is expected to share in the barn electric bill and do their own manure removal, as well as care for their pasture. Call or text 703-283-4887, visit www.optimusfarm.com or email [email protected] for more info.

FOR ALL OF YOUR HORSE AND HUMAN REHAB NEEDS... 19606 Ridgeside Rd. Bluemont, VA 703-283-4887 [email protected]
For Brenda Herzog!
Erie is a lovely thickly built 16+ hand TBM for free lease and or sale. Very quiet (stick and spur ride) who needs a knowledgeable rider with quiet hands. Perfect home is essential and references will be vetted. Located in Hampstead, MD. JC name Our Girl Snick.

It is my distinct honor and privilege to introduce to you the newest member of my family. "Love The Hustle" is a just turned 3 y/o 16hh+ TB mare who has been off the track for a couple of months, and had only raced twice in December. She had only been ridden a few times off the track before I rode her on Friday.
Did I want a 3 y/o? No. Does having a 3 y/o delay my goals? For sure, yes. But when you find one this trainable you buy them and hold onto them! And when you speak to her jockey and he says she was well mannered and an easy ride, you have even more confidence in the purchase.
Chessie is in an awkward and gawky stage of her development. As a result, she will be turned out to grow for a while, and will just be taken on some hacks a couple of days a week. Based on a growth test we did to her, I suspect she will finish between 16.3 and 17 hands.
This mare is extremely well bred (Curlin and Kitten's Joy are her grandsires!!! Smart Strike, El Prado, and Unbridled are her great Grandsires!) and is easy peasy to handle in all ways. Ride outside of an arena for the 1st time? Check. Jump a cross rail? Check. Jump a line of cross rails with a trot in and canter out like she had done it her whole life? Double check. Pick up the right lead canter on the 1st try? Yep she did that too. Stand quietly in a trailer for a long haul which included a 1.5 hour stop without making a peep? No problem folks! Blend in seamlessly with a bossy gelding and help to keep him calm? You bet! Soft mouth? She has that too! Be extremely tolerant of my ridiculously thorough pre-purchase exam? Absolutely.
Love me a great Chestnut mare! True conformation pics which will be her "before" pics will be taken in the next few days. Then wait for the "glow up" in a few months...She will be spectacular when done growing!
