Sitting out on the balcony of The Tiny Beige Apartment sewing. And SOMEHOW my beautiful new spool of Silver Wonderfil Metallic thread flew over the rail. If you have ever dropped a spool, or a bobbin, you know that, just like in life, sometimes you just have to let go. And I did. And looking down, I could see that it had fallen INTO my below neighbor’s small balcony. The silver thread glinted in the setting sun. I got it back - thanks to Pilates and Physical Therapy and being unafraid of climbing. The morale of the story? Let go of the thread, but don’t be afraid to pick it back up.

I posted without tagging my gratitude crew!

Thank you to my Craftivest Bee friends who have sent me their blocks. For the month of May, I requested that members make an economy block with the center something they are grateful for. I can’t wait for all of the blocks - I will have a beautiful prompt quilt to remind me what is good and strong in this world.

I have been quilting Stan’s background. I’m only a little sure of what I am doing. Sewing makes your brain work in new ways. Once his sunflowers are ready for him, I will put him where he belongs, and start thread painting him - putting more texture in while making sure he stays. He’s pretty good at staying, and I think the sunflowers will make us both happy! Portaits

Happy29th year to my Grey Michael, my first born, kind, child whisperer, world traveler, middle school master and baby thief. You made me a mother. My favorite times with you always include laughing and dancing, and whipped cream with Jessie. I know I am a few minutes late, but once I had you I could never get anywhere on time. You make me happy every time I see your face. Keep walking through life exactly as you are. Love you to the moon and back. Mama.
Stan the Man is my first pet collage using the Fur Rea Pet Portrait method taught by Tina Freudenberger and Carol Monti. I was VERY brave and succeeded at getting Stan off the teflon and ready to audition on other fabrics.

He’s done! Stan the Man! Now I have to create a background. But first I am going to stare into his soulful eyes for a bit.

I’m in an Activist Quilt Hive. For my month, I asked my Bee members for economy blocks with what they were grateful for in the middle. I believe that without knowing what we love, we can’t know what to fight against. What a great start!

It’s been a week! Classes at the Lancaster Quilt Show with new friend Sarah Thomas, a drive to NYC to my Laura’s home, Othello on Broadway “co starring” Ezra, and dinner, laughs and old stories with my lovelies. AND I got to visit an early me made quilt! All of this amazing travel for a Chronic Lyme gal who never dreamed she would be able to do all the things she wanted. Cherish your friends!

Microquilting class with Sarah Thomas at the Lancaster Quiltshow. The Webfabrics Troublemakers for the win!

This is next on my plate!

Ruff Ruff! Stan the Man is getting his body! Won’t be long now - for this part!
