I recently learned that Monet had cataracts that prevented him from seeing sharp images, thus resulting in his impressionist paintings. He was painting as he was seeing— what a gift.
I’ve shot some beautiful weddings this year, but out of respect for the couples I work with, I will not be sharing their photos. Consider this an impressionist interpretation of a recent wedding from April.

We need some commotion for her gown! The bride’s mom made this gown using inspiration from a 1950s Dior gown. She also made the veil. I am still in awe.

Challenging myself on the studio to start crafting my own stories to tell. I’ve been hitting a wall, but I finally in a place to start forcing myself to overcome it. The only way out is through it. 💥🥊

Georgia experienced an unusual fall with long stints of no rain, so I’m extremely impressed with the beautiful foliage we got for this wedding at INOLA Blue Ridge in late October. It was very ✨on brand✨ for this bride and groom 🍁🍂

First looks are always special, but especially when Dads and Daughters have a special bond. I love working at because this greenhouse is the perfect place for private moments without the worry of spectators.
This Dad surprised the Bride with a special friendship bracelet she made for him in preschool. I was a puddle.

West Milford Farm truly delivered on details for Sophie + Mat's wedding day. Take a look at the sneak peeks from this beautiful (albeit a tad bit warm) day in October.
Sophie + Mathias - Skylar Sperin Photography Sophie and Mat's wedding at West Milford Farm was absolutely perfect! We laughed, cried and danced the night away to some of Abba's greatest hits. The weather was slightly on the warmer side, but the zinnia + cosmo field were still in full bloom!

We have so many conversations around jars. What’s for dinner? Can you give me a hand? Tell me about your day. So many opportunities to connect with people.
These ball jars are extra special. Grandma gave them to us from her crawl space, used “many moons ago” as she would say. While we keep these in a safe place, we do have a set of ball jars that we use for drinking glasses. I was hoping to learn how to can this past summer with my sweet mother-in-law, aka Mommy, but time got the best of me. Here we are at the end of the season, and I have nothing to show for lack of effort.
My grandparents canned everything, but I mostly remember green beans. It was always a treat to walk in Granny and Pa’s house to find him sitting watching survivor with a bucket of string beans.
This fall I’m committing to learning. I’m equipped with some good literature and ample videos to guide me. First step: learn how to garden. 🤣
Do you can? If so, share your go to produce! I need all of the inspo I can get.
