The Easter Bunny is getting ready! 🐰
Every year the BIVFD Auxiliary hosts our Easter Candy Hunt at Ball O’Brien Park and helps the Easter Bunny make special deliveries to homes around the island.
Last year the community was incredibly generous and helped make Easter extra special across the island.
If you'd like to help again this year, check out our Amazon Wish List (linked below) or support the event with a Venmo contribution .
Thank you for helping us keep this sweet island tradition going! 🐣

It is with heavy hearts that the Women’s Auxiliary honors and remembers Steve Rachels, lovingly known as “Papa Steve” to those who knew him best.
Steve dedicated over 50 years of service to our fire department — a lifetime of answering the call, showing up without hesitation, and quietly setting the example of what it means to serve your community. His commitment, loyalty, and steady presence will forever be part of our department’s history.
Beyond the firehouse, Steve was a devoted family man and a hardworking man, always willing to lend a hand, fix what was broken, and help however he could. His kindness, work ethic, and generosity touched more lives than he probably ever realized.
We extend our deepest condolences to Steve’s family, friends, and fellow firefighters. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and always honored.
Rest easy, Papa Steve. Thank you for a lifetime of service. ❤️🚒
