Creating Relationships-Finding Wholeness-Strengthening Others Did you know that the second leading cause of death among people ages 10-34 is su***de?
Second only to accidental death, su***de is a major epidemic among young people. According to the CDC some major risk factors include, a family history of su***de, history of alcohol and substance abuse, feelings of hopelessness, isolation and feelings of being cut off from people, and loss. The common denominator of these risk factors is a lack of relationships. Change is about creating a safe environment where young people can be themselves and be encouraged to find wholeness in their purpose.

Friday and Saturday night at 630 the high school theatre is doing a murder mystery play. For $10 they are having spaghetti dinner catered by Sicilys with salad, spaghetti, rolls, and drink. It's going to be pretty cool because they are setting up the stage like a restaurant and we are actually eating on the stage during the play! They only have 50 spots for each though and your spot needs to be reserved asap if you want to join us!! If you only want to see the show you can pay $5 at the door. However, they hope to fill the stage with guests for an authentic feel. UCS students (and faculty I believe) pay only $5 for the meal with free entry.

It seems like we have been quiet lately... at least as far as our social media updates go. 2021 was a year of reflection. It marked our 5 years of ministry with Change, and we celebrated those who have worked with us through the years, as well as made a lot of new friends. 2022 is going to be a year of of continued centering. Starting a ministry is a careful thing... it's easier to speed up than slow down. I am thankful for those who are with us and the patience we have learned to walk in in the process ❤ I love you my world Changers!!! (MANY not pictured ❤)

Mini Golf availability is weather and temperature dependent.
Minors must be accompanied by parent/legal guardian at all times. No drop offs. Any minor not accompanied will be removed and no refunds given.

Our Story
Change in our World, Inc. is a local nonprofit, founded in and servicing Union County, that works with young people in our community. Our mission is to combat su***de in our communities by creating relationships, finding wholeness, and strengthening others.
We started by helping other locals put on their own events, and were able to host our first New Year’s Eve Masquerade on December 31, 2016. Our goal with the event was to provide a place for young people to come, socialize, and create relationships in a safe, alcohol free environment. After that night, I was approached by multiple high schoolers who were talking about a desire to meet more regularly, and this led to our Change Classrooms that initially met at various restaurants where we discussed situations in their lives and tools to make relationships with parents and each other more positive. The Change Classroom has grown tremendously and blossomed from the initial 5 students to 12 regular participants, and 9 who keep in contact as they can. We continue to host events for our community, such as our first ever Change Community Christmas event last December which had over 350 in attendance throughout the day, and we participate in local events at every chance we get. Also, we received (and accepted) 3 invitations to Atlanta for our students to participate in events such as the public service announcement video created by the Georgia Board of Education, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Department of Family and Children Services, and Voices of Georgia’s Children in the 2017-2018 school year (available on YouTube), and have accepted an invitation for this September for our students to participate in another panel discussing problems facing our young people and how we can help them. As we can, we seek to take our young people to other seasonal events, such as last year we took a group of 7 teens and 3 adults to the Joshua’s Dream Ranch Corn Maze, we went bowling at Galaxy Bowling multiple times, and we even went hiking once. Additionally, we have begun reaching out to women in our community through a group called PUSH (press until something happens) that basically seeks to empower women to make their dreams reality as a community.
