Here's some details about this weekend's festival on the Square!

It's gonna be a busy weekend in Downtown Blairsville as we host our first festival in several years! Expect lots of activity in-and-around the Square beginning Friday.....so avoid the area if you're in a hurry.

Festivities begin Friday evening with a concert at the Old Courthouse on the Square featuring The Mountain Breeze Band. Doors open at 6pm and show begins at 7pm.....while this is a free show, donations are always appreciated!

Saturday's festival begins at 10am and ends at 5pm. Our annual Memorial Day Parade starts at 10:30am and the parade route is as follows: Begins at the Old Gym and goes down Veterans' Memorial Drive, then down Cleveland Street and around the Square, proceeds down Blue Ridge Street and hangs a left at the Library (Hunt-Martin) and then back to the Old Gym. At noon we'll have a performance by the Scottish Festival & Highland Games Bagpipers! At 1:30pm we’ll have the gospel duo ‘lighthouse’ performing on the Square.

Sunday's festival begins at 10am and ends at 5pm. At 10:30am, we'll have gospel music featuring the duo 'Lighthouse' and at 12:30pm we'll have a performance by Kim & Curtis of 'Mountain Gypsy Music'!

The festival is rain or shine, and is a great way to check out the local artists who call our mountains home. In addition to the festival, your favorite downtown merchants will be open and hosting special events of their own.....so be sure to check them out!

If you're worried about parking, there'll be plenty behind Blairsville's City Hall....or you may use any of the side streets where parking is available. We hope you'll join us for what's sure to be a great weekend and look forward to seeing you on the Square!
