Successful night of wrestling — Beat Pickens and lost to Lumpkin. Ben Gary is undefeated at 11-0, Jacob Parwana is 11-1, Chris Robinson is 10-2, Leighton Hunter finished the night 2-1. Go Panther wrestling 🐾

Our swim team had 37 personal best swims Friday night in Clarkesville. Multiple swimmers won their heats and had top 10 finishes. Congratulations 🏊♀️🐾
The UCMS Advanced Ensemble sang Carols at The Holly Jolly Christmas & Breakfast this morning. Excellent job!

GBI agents partnered with our SROs to give 8th graders from Woody Gap and UCMS an interesting glimpse into investigating a crime scene. Students learned about fingerprinting, DNA collection, alternate light source/BlueStar, and hair and fiber collection. Special thanks to GBI Agents Elaina Honea, Taylor Lawrence and Cliff Tippens for sharing their expertise with us today!
UCMS Panthers dominated the court tonight against Dawson County! Both the 7th & 8th grade boys’ teams had huge wins, 7th grade girls win 47-10 and 8th grade girls win a thriller in double overtime 43-39. The cheerleaders did a great job of cheering them to victory! 🐾🏀
It’s been a busy couple of days - dissecting in 7th Grade Science, Turkey Games, learning how to carve a turkey, the history of India, and thankful turkeys in Spanish. 🐾💜🦃💛
Our wrestling team had 3 champions at the KOM tournament - Chris Robinson, Ben Gary and Jacob Parwana. Ben Pierce, Leighton Hunter, Connor Dell, Noah Chambers, and Nathan Webster came in second. The following took third place: Evan Herbert, Josiah Kay, Isiah Kilbourne, Chris Kraft, Owen LaPorte, Colton Pruiett and Cannon Robinson. Excellent job wrestlers, coaches and managers who ran the tables for the tournament. 🐾

Excellent job to these students for participating in the GMEA District 9 Honor Chorus this weekend. 🐾
FFA students competed at Franklin Co High School on on Tuesday in Career and Leadership Development Events. Most of these events had 50 schools competing in them. Grace Lacy placed 2nd overall in FFA Quiz and will be traveling to Tifton, Ga on December 9th to compete at the state level. Kamila Qiuntero Hatem, Bailey Pierce, Charlotte Peters, and Izzy Stanley competed with 50 other schools in Floriculture and placed 6th overall. June Barber, Addison Hughes, Ariel Morgan and Conner Stephens competed in Wildlife Management and placed 27th.
Faith Bell was recognized as Country Financial’s teacher of the month. 🐾

The Reinhardt University Middle School Honor Band occurred this past Friday and Saturday. Six Union County Middle School 8th Grade Band students were accepted into this prestigious event. These students were accepted out of over 290 nominations across the North GA area. Students were put in two different bands with other students they had never met before. During those two days, they rehearsed music and put together a concert in just over 24 hours. Congratulations to Abigail Meyer, Roland Lawrence, Sophia Byron, Eli Milam, Brooklyn Heritage, and Elijah Stringer on this great accomplishment!
Our swimmers honored Veterans today as they swam at Tallulah Falls. It was a great day for the Panthers with over 20 top ten finishes and Wyatt Yancey bringing home 1st place in the 50 yd backstroke. Congratulations 🐾
Good luck to our 6th grade Panther football players and cheerleaders as they compete against Dawson County today in the Superbowl. A special thank you to the UCHS and UCMS coaches and players who stopped by for an encouraging pep talk to send them off to their championship game. Class of 2030, we are proud of YOU!

We were honored today to host State Representative Stan Gunter and his wife Rita. They provided an engaging lesson and exercise that explained how a bill becomes a law to our 6th Grade Social Studies classes. In addition, Mr. Gunter shared historical information and details about the capitol.
The decision has been made to hold the Veterans Day Ceremony in the UCS Fine Arts Center due to the potential of rain on Friday. 🇺🇸
The UCMS basketball teams were looking great in their home opening games this week. The 7th grade girls defeated Lumpkin Monday night and the 8th grade girls fought a tough game and ended a couple of points short. Our boys teams were looking great as they went up against Gilmer Tuesday night with the 8th grade Panthers securing the win! The cheerleaders kept the spirit rolling for all the teams! 🐾🏀
Perfect attendance winners for last week! Again, 6th grade was the leader for overall best attendance percentage.

Thank you to the Union County FFA Alumni for hosting the Blue Ridge Cattle Classic today at the Union County Agriscience Center. It was a great day for the Union County FFA Cattle Show Team. Special thanks to John Martin from Carrolton, GA for judging the show.

6th grade Spanish classes do the color walk to find objects in Spanish colors.
Trunk or Treat was a huge success. UCMS had great participation and fun was had by all. Thank you UCMS FFA Officers for bringing some animals for the petting zoo.
