A tribute to BSC will re-air tonight (Tuesday evening, May 28) at 11 p.m. CST on Birmingham Mountain Radio. You can catch the live stream or listen to 107.3. https://www.bhammountainradio.com/

The Lost Child Radio Broadcast by Burgin Mathews gave a nod to BSC Saturday morning at the beginning of their broadcast at 9 a.m. (107.3). Burgin Mathews is collecting recordings of BSC alma mater from anyone in the community.

A version Joanna Pepple, Ph.D., Visiting Assistant Professor in Music at Birmingham-Southern College submitted earlier this week playing the violin (solo) was chosen in the feature program at the top of the hour! Burgin plans to store all of the recordings in an online repository, so if you would like to record yours and submit it to him at [email protected], he'll accept submissions through Friday, May 31.

To his surprise, President Daniel B. Coleman received an honorary doctorate at the Birmingham-Southern College final commencement ceremony on May 24, 2024. A graduate of Yale University and the University of Chicago, he spent more than 30 years in executive roles in the global finance industry in New York and Chicago before returning to his hometown of Birmingham in 2017. In December 2018, he became BSC's 16th President.
"From that day through this one, his commitment to our College has never wavered," Board of Trustees Chair Rev. Keith Thompson ’83 said. "Having inherited a daunting situation not of his own making, he persisted, day after day, believing to his core that Birmingham and Alabama and indeed the world needed BSC.
"His deep devotion to the students, faculty, and staff has been evident at every turn. And his example of leadership has delivered the most important lesson we will all take away from our time on the Hilltop: Find a fight worth fighting and then give it everything you have. When you do, no matter the outcome, you will have served with honor."
