Greetings Tabernacle Baptist Church, family, friends and community today we were blessed with another Faith, Forks and Fitness Fair!

We had two exceptional speakers. One taught the importance of wholistic healthy practices, proper diet, better nutritional choices, reading food labels. The other taught yoga meditation, breathing exercises and practices, the importance of living a stress-free and healthy life using meditation.

The amazing staff, team and doctors came back again from UAB Medicine and sponsored free cholesterol, blood pressure and insulin tests and a one-on-one consultation with the doctor.

The UAB Live HealthSmart Alabama was back again with affordable fresh products, fruits and vegetables. TBC sponsored a fresh and healthy lunch.

Voter’s registration weas also available for the upcoming election! Register with your local libraries if you’re not already registered.

Thanks to all who served today! Thank you all who use your education and gifts to serve your communities and being a servant for God.

Special thanks to the Deacons’ and Ministers’ Wives for your dedication and service to the community and TBC! Health is true wealth, we thank you!

Breakfast was provided for all ages. We enjoyed pastries, teas, coffee, yogurt and fruit.

Greetings!! May we reflect on the legacy of our ancestors and continue to strive for Freedom and Independence! Happy Juneteenth Tabernacle Baptist Church !

Several years ago, Sara served as that year's President of the American Bus Association's Marketplace industry's meeting that met in Charlotte, North Carolina. I was very fortunate to accompany her on two major trips to Charlotte. The first trip was to inspect the preparations for the main event that was being planned. She was treated with the upmost respect and dignity for the years of leadership she has provided to the industry she has served and led here in Birmingham. I must admit, she was (we were) treated royally! On the second trip, the main event trip, she received many accolades for an outstanding Marketplace conference. Sara's Birmingham team surprised her with a commissioned portrait painted by Ronald McDowell, a famed artist and sculptor. McDowell's work can be seen in the main library (portrait of Birmingham's leaders) and in various installations in our city and throughout the nation. "Sara in the Wind" hangs prominently in our home. I am very proud of Sara and all that she means to me, our family, our church family, and the contributions she continues to make to our city, and beyond. Today is her birthday. She is not on Facebook, but I wanted to post two pictures that are special to me/us. The "Sara in the Wind," and my most beloved picture from our first "date night" in Accra, Ghana, on Tabernacle Baptist Church's first mission trip in 2006. We had a quiet dinner at a wonderful restaurant nestled next to a beautiful flowing stream of water. To make it more special, the moon was full (the light behind her is a light fixture, not the moon - lol). Birthday Blessings to Sara!
