Junior Achievement of Alabama
Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success!

Happy International Day of Education! 📚 Education = Opportunity. At Junior Achievement, our goal is to help young people discover the possibilities in their lives. We do this by connecting what they learn in school to real-world experiences. We show them that it’s possible to invest in their future, understand how the world works, and pursue their dreams. 🌟

What’s the “one thing” you wish you had learned in school but didn’t? Personal finance? Budgeting? Understanding credit scores? Junior Achievement teaches these vital skills often missed in traditional education. Join us in empowering students with the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed in life. Help equip them with the tools to achieve anything they set their mind to. Find volunteer opportunities near you at https://bit.ly/3W5cBVD

At Junior Achievement, we believe in the power of mentorship to shape a brighter future. For National Mentoring Month, let's show our appreciation in a meaningful way! Write a personal note to your mentor, sharing how they’ve impacted your life, or post about it on social media to inspire others. Together, let's celebrate and thank the mentors who make a lasting difference! 🙌

Happy Kid Inventors' Day to all the young dreamers and innovators! ✨ We’re committed to sparking imagination and creativity in every child. 🎨 Today, let’s celebrate their curiosity and inspire them to explore, experiment, and invent. 🔬 The next groundbreaking idea could come from a young inventor you know! 💡👩🔬👨🔬

Empowering communities through mentorship! National Mentoring Month is a time to celebrate the incredible impact mentors have on individuals and communities. By guiding others, mentors help foster growth, connection, and positive change. Take this opportunity to thank a mentor and honor the role they play in shaping stronger communities. 🤝

Junior Achievement of Alabama (JA) broke ground today on the 30,000 square foot McWane Economic Education Center located at 6th Ave North and 22nd Street in downtown Birmingham. Thanks to a $4 Million lead gift from Will & Kaitlin McWane and the McWane Family, this ambitious project will house two flagship experiential learning facilities, JA BizTown presented by EBSCO and JA Finance Park presented by Regions, aimed at empowering 6th and 8th graders with essential financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurial skills. The building will also house JA of Alabama’s administrative offices.
Projected to open in Spring of 2026, the McWane Economic Education Center will serve as a transformative educational hub providing hands-on, immersive experiences that prepare young people for economic success in the modern world. By bringing real-world companies, jobs, and scenarios into the classroom, JA BizTown and JA Finance Park will equip students with practical knowledge that both inspires and prepares for life.
The $20 Million comprehensive capital and operational campaign to make the McWane Economic Education Center possible was announced in June and represents a significant investment in the future of Alabama's youth. With state-of-the-art facilities and innovative programming, JA aims to reach 20,000 students each year in the new Center, empowering them to achieve their full potential in the global economy.
