Night night. We miss you!
From the Language of Letting Go this morning...
"One of our primary rights is to begin feeling better and recovering, whether or not others in the family choose to do the same."

"Often when we begin taking care of ourselves, family members will reverberate with over and covert attempts to pull us back into the old system and roles. We do NOT have to go. Their attempts to pull us back are their issues. Taking care of ourselves and becoming health and happy does not mean we do not love them. It means we're addressing our issues."

Truth!
This might only be slightly funny.

No need to walk alone in the dark when there are many who have a lantern to help light your path. Therapy can illuminate & bring clarity to your present!

CYMATICS: Science Vs. Music - Nigel Stanford

I thought this was a beautiful representation of how sound (language) frames our lives. So many of us are unaware of how we think of ourselves and speak to ourselves impacts every single thing.

We are pattern-making creatures. What kind of patterns are you currently creating? Changing the way we communicate to ourselves requires attention, energy, and effort. You deserve so much better. You are more capable than you think. You are a magical creator. You have choice, dear ones.

Here is your challenge, if you’re up for one. Put some intentional practice into self-compassion using empathy, grace, acceptance and see what new beautiful patterns present. What do you have to gain?

Your unique bright light is so desperately needed. So please, be kind to yourself.

If this applies to you now or in the past, it’s ok. You are human. Learn from the choices, navigate the consequences kindly and gracefully, and keep trying. You’re bigger than your worst mistakes and your biggest successes. You’re doing great 🕯

[08/05/20]   I’m leaving tomorrow for a much needed 6-day vacation. I won’t be checking texts, sending emails, talking on the phone, looking at social media, watching the news, or attending to my family/friends/clients. So if you reach out and I don’t respond, please don’t take offense. I’ll respond next week Wednesday or Thursday. In the meantime, I’ll be practicing what I preach daily to those I care about and serve: self-care.

To all my nurses, doctors, police officers, advocates for social justice, and mental health care providers out there, you are awesome. I hope you are able to take a break and check out soon too. All you masked-up, cape-free heroes deserve it.

Protect yourself and everyone you serve will be better for it. Sending all the love 💗

If you’re feeling the urge to help but aren’t sure what to do, consider joining this amazing group of humans working hard while in isolation to help those on the front lines. I’m not a seamstress by any measure, but I can learn! If you’re not in the Birmingham area, consider starting your own face mask movement in your town. We are all in this together!
