Kim has been a part of the SDEA family for 12 years as our president, Scott Dawson's, executive assistant. ⁠Her favorite part of working with SDEA is getting to experience the invitation at the end of our events. There's nothing quite like experiencing the moment someone comes to know Christ!⁠

Kim is married to her husband, Tommy, and they have a big beautiful family including their dog Cocoa Bell! They both enjoy serving at their church and wherever the Lord places them!⁠

We're incredibly grateful for Kim and her servant's heart!

STS Mission is right around the corner and we're SO excited for all that God's going to do in and through the lives of students in Knoxville, TN!

We're just 2 WEEKS away from CAMP! Our hope and prayer is for students to come to know the God who created them and loves them more then they could ever imagine!⁠

We believe He has gone before us and big things are going to happen at STS Camp 2024!

SDEA STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Spencer Thomason

Spencer's been with us on staff for over 3 months now, serving as the student team associate! He works with our student team to make sure Camp, Conference and STS Mission are the best they can be!⁠

His favorite event is STS Camp, because it's an opportunity to see over a 1,000 students on fire for the Lord! In his free time you can bet he's hanging out with friends or family and probably watching a Braves or GA Tech game!

FUN FACT: Spencer went to high school with Megan Moroney! 🎶

Spencer has made an incredible impact on our team in just a short time and we're grateful to work alongside him!

SDEA STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Lindsey Stephens

Lindsey has been with us as our production and logistics coordinator for the past 10 months! She works with our logistics team to coordinate all the details of our events. Her favorite SDEA event is UNITE because it's where she discovered her gift for details/organization plus she loves to travel to new cities!

Before joining the SDEA team, Lindsey graduated from Florida State University with a degree in fine arts and media communications. She loves all things art, fashion and pop culture and she has a mini golden doodle named 'Rooster'!

FUN FACT: She can pick up anything with her toes and she never leaves her water jug behind (not water bottle, water jug)!

We are so grateful for Lindsey and her attention to detail that makes every event run smoothly!

Hunter's serves as our VP of Strategic Development. He makes sure we're using all of our resources wisely and oversees day-to-day operations! His favorite SDEA event is STS Mission because this is where our team gets to witness students become confident in sharing the gospel!⁠

Hunter's married to Shannon, his high school sweetheart and they have a 1-year-old son, Jett! In his free time, you can bet he's probably on a golf course! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️⁠

FUN FACT: Hunter's been to Disney World over 100 times! 🏰✨️⁠

Josh has volunteered with SDEA for 15+ years and this upcoming June will mark 3 years since he officially joined our staff. He serves as our Evangelism Director and coordinates our men's conferences, safe at home program, faith and family nights, and UNITE. His favorite event at SDEA is UNITE, because of the unique opportunity he has to build relationships with Godly leaders across the nation every year! ⁠

Josh has been married to his wife Shannon for over 21 years and has three children, Caden, Laura Grace and Timothy. He has a love for sports and is a proud Duke basketball fan!⁠

FUN FACT: Before coming to SDEA, Josh was a 7th grade math teacher!⁠
⁠
Josh has made a significant impact on SDEA and our evangelism team wouldn't be the same without him!

SDEA STAFF SPOTLIGHT: Jacob Garrett⁠

Jacob's been with us for two years and handles all things graphic design including digital and print assets for all our events! STS Conference is definitely his favorite event, because there's something very unique about seeing thousands of students worshipping Jesus in the same room. ⁠

Jacob's the middle child in a family of four sisters and in his spare time, you can catch him spending time with friends and family or somewhere with a camera in hand!

FUN FACT: He's the 6th grade spelling bee champion 🐝🏆️⁠

SDEA is incredibly grateful for Jacob and the artistry and creativity that God has gifted him with!

Earlier this week we had the privilege of being with where was invited to speak at chapel! We challenged students with the question, "Do you have a problem staying dead?"

Following Christ requires us to die to ourselves daily. What a needed reminder for each of us!

We had an exciting weekend over here at SDEA! Thank you to Cascade Hills Church for inviting us to be with you yesterday. We witnessed over 20 people make the decision to follow Jesus - Praise Be!!

SDEA STAFF HIGHLIGHT: Gina Mayfield

Who better to start off our staff series than the legend herself! Gina has worked with SDEA for 27 years in several different capacities. Today, she serves as our VP of Events overseeing our evangelism and student teams.

Gina and Michael have been married since 2012 and they have two daughters, Carsyn and Emily. On the weekends they serve at Gardendale First Baptist as life group leaders!

FUN FACT: She hates chocolate...🚫🍫

Gina plays a vital role at SDEA and we couldn't do what we do without her!

Prayer is the driving force behind SDEA and every facet of ministry we're apart of. We ask that God's will would be done in the life of this ministry and all the glory would be His alone.

What a needed reminder from 's conference -God cares about the legacy you leave behind.

We were so grateful to be a part of a conference that equips men with a true understanding of Biblical manhood and provides them opportunities to build community.

STS Worship is a collective group of musicians whose heartbeat is to lead people to Jesus through dynamic & powerful worship experiences. We're honored to get the chance to lead students in worship through conferences and camps, but also with ministries and churches all over the country!

This time last week...13,500 students and adults gathered in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for Strength to Stand - WHO WANTS TO GO BACK?!!!

We will never know all the decisions made in private conversations, church time, and other divine appointments, but at least 970 people had a life changing weekend! Each one special. Each one known by the living God. Each one needs our prayers!
