Our friend Henry made everyone's day at our Boston Tea Party when he told Betsy Ross, "Thank you for making my flag!"

We had a lot of fun today with our patrons and historical guests such as Betsy Ross, Benjamin Franklin, and the one and only George Washington.

Thank you to the Oak Mountain Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Cahaba Coosa Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution for making our 250th Anniversary Celebration of the Boston Tea Party a success!

Shelby Urban County CDBG Program Five-Year Consolidated Plan Needs Assessment Fiscal Years 2024-2028 11/28/2023

The Shelby County Commission will host a series of Needs Assessment public meetings for the purpose of determining the nature and types of projects needed to address priority needs within the Shelby Urban County that includes the unincorporated areas of the county and the municipalities of Alabaster, Calera, Chelsea, Columbiana, Harpersville, Helena, Indian Springs Village, Montevallo, Pelham, Vincent, Westover, Wilsonville, and Wilton.

The meetings will address the following topics:
• Shelby Urban County
• Consolidated Plan
• Annual Action Plans
• Estimated amount of CDBG program entitlement funds
• Eligible uses of CDBG funds
• Needs Assessment Survey

There will be an Open House format-style meeting. Please click on the link below for dates and locations.

We had some fun programs this week: our 3rd annual Family Portrait Day, Tween Elephant Toothpaste (a fun science program that our Tween Leadership Council suggested), an animal show with Jan the Science Lady of Dynamic Education Adventures, and Homeschool Hangout, during which our homeschoolers learned about leaf chromatography! It was great seeing our amazing patrons this week.
