Merry Christmas from all of us at The Exceptional Foundation!

This month, Tricia Kirk, The Exceptional Foundation’s President & CEO for the past twenty years, retires following a lifetime of commitment to supporting and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities. Under Tricia’s leadership, The Exceptional Foundation grew from serving 18 participants a day to serving over 150 participants per day. During that time, The Exceptional Foundation established countless extracurricular programs for participants, created two immensely successful annual fundraising events, and opened numerous Exceptional Foundation affiliate locations across the southeast. The lives of hundreds of children and adults with intellectual disabilities have undoubtedly been impacted by Tricia Kirk and the programs she helped establish. Thank you, Tricia, for your unwavering leadership and commitment. Enjoy your retirement. Peace and love! ✌️♥️

Recently we took a field trip to the Southern Museum of Flight. With over 100 aircrafts there was a lot to see and talk about! We learned all about the history of planes, how planes have changed over the years, and what type of training it takes to become a pilot. ✈️

Our friends at Hand in Paw stopped by and we got all of our snuggles in with their sweet therapy dogs! Is there a better way to end the day than a visit from furry friends? No, we didn't think so either. 🐾

Dinnertainment is just 2 weeks away and we are hard at work rehearsing all of our performances! We're grateful for Red Mountain Theater's Residency Program and Alie B. Gorrie for helping us with choreography for this year's performance. 🎶

This dance is a favorite and we can't wait for everyone attending Dinnertainment to love it as much as we do!
