We’re going to let you in on a little secret: every Saturday, The Son of a Butcher partners with Bandit Patisserie to create a limited number of speciality sandwiches.

Be sure to follow their Instagram page where they post their Saturday Sammie details, including the ingredients.

Act quickly come Saturday morning – they open at 8am and these sandwiches have a cult-like following!

One of my favorite spring destinations has to be Birmingham, Alabama.

It’s one of the hottest and tastiest small food cities in the country and makes for a fun food vacation. Over a long weekend, you really get a sense of what a place is about. I love The BHAM!

Match Truth At Work’s ❤️ for GKC which will provide food support to first responders while also infusing our local restaurant partners. Truth At Work is matching 20k to the project.

Our “trial run” went smoothly on Tuesday thanks to Bandit Patisserie and our friends at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center. We served approximately 85 staff members in the Behavioral Health, Mother Baby/Nursery/Lactation and the Covid Units.

Shout out to Jesus!!!!!

Through our partnership with the Joint Supply Coalition, we have served 27,277 individuals in the first month of Covid-19. Yes!! You read that correctly. AND every person who comes through the drive thru receives prayer and a scripture card.

50% of our recipients are first timers.

90% of the individuals served are seniors or families with children.

We have served over 50 families with home delivery above the 493 families we already serve monthly through home delivery. We expect these numbers to grow as the crisis continues.

As of tomorrow, we will have Drive-Thru Sites operating in Hoover, Calera, Maylene and Fairfield. The days of the week vary per location.

The incredible people of Birmingham, Alabama are working together and so far we have provided support to food insecure families in 10 counties.

6,681 face masks have been made so far by We Sew Love volunteers.

And tonight is our first food delivery to First Responders with one of our restaurant partners. Through generous donors, we are able to purchase food and have it delivered to those on the front lines. Bandit Patisserie is providing chicken pot pie to 84 staff members at Brookwood Baptist Medical Center - specifically to the Behavioral Health, Mother Baby/Nursery/Lactation and the Covid Units.

Today our office staff and our friends from Team Rubicon were surprised with treats from Marble Slab Creamery & Great American Cookies - Cahaba Village. Wood Fruitticher has loaned us an 18 wheeler size refrigerated truck for overflow food donations. Hoover Package Store, CVS Pharmacy Vestavia and Rocky Ridge and Walgreens Vestavia all shared boxes with us.

Tomorrow food Drive-Thru Sites will be open from 1-5pm in Fairfield and at Liberty Church Birmingham in Hoover.
