Today is the day! We've been so busy, that we're just now posting our wonderful opportunity, The RAUP, The Rental Assistance Utility Program and our excitement to help and serve is still on 100!
The Rental & Utility Assistance Program makes funding available to assist households that are unable to pay rent or utilities. Birmingham City residents are eligible to apply but please note, that submission of an application and appropriate documenation does NOT guarantee payment to be made for rent or utilities.

Jefferson County Family Resource Center
WHAT: FREE HEALTHY FOOD BOXES and COVID VACCINES and BOOSTERS for adults and children!
WHEN: Friday, January 14, 2021, from 1pm - 3pm
WHERE: Downtown Bessemer parking lot on the corner of 1st Avenue North and 21st Street North (across from the Bessemer DHR Building)
WHO: EVERYBODY is eligible!
We need volunteers from 12pm - 3:30pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please do not be shy! Reach out and let us know! You are welcome to volunteer for as little or as much as you can!
Jefferson and Shelby County Disaster Relief
Individuals and households who live in Jefferson & Shelby counties affected by the severe weather and flooding event that occurred Oct. 6-7: FEMA may be able to help with temporary housing expenses, basic home repairs or other essential disaster-related needs that are not covered by insurance.
FREE LEGAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE: See attached press release for Disaster Legal Services to support survivors for 4632-DR. Disaster Legal Services (DLS) is a community support program that is made available when a major declaration includes an IA designation. Low-income individuals facing legal issues as a result of the severe weather and flooding may call 334-517-2250 or 1-800-354-6154 and ask for the Disaster Legal Assistance Line or ext 2250 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Guys, what can we say about last week, other than how grateful we are to have served in our community @ Barrett Elementary?!
It was a beautiful day to give away bags of canned and boxed goods, a turkey and a few other frozen/cold items. And to top it off, not only were the students of the community served, there were Birmingham City residents as well.......it was a great day for sure!
Thank you Birmingham City, Barrett Elementary School, The Worship Center Christian Church, our WONDERFUL volunteers who helped drive vehicles, bag goods, load cars and more and to many of you helped get the word out; we sincerely appreciate all of your hard work. Thank you, thank you!

Friends, please forgive my absence, it's been a whirlwind over here but we are working to ensure our efforts to support our wonderful communities, will be in place and READY for action!
We have two great programs approaching, one in particular that includes a Holiday Food Bag Giveaway for Birmingham City....awesomeness!
This event will be happening within the next week and we are excitedly looking forward to serving Bham City and WELL.
As soon as we have official info to provide regarding the food distribution location and time, we will be sure to update you.
And as a gentle remember, although we are an organization, that serves all, this particular giveaway will be for Birmingham City residents only (within any Bham City zip code).
The second great part to that is our own TWC Ministry will have a giveaway announcement soon as well, open to any and all residents and will be coming soon! Yay!
As for our additional program, we will keep you on pins and needles, before making the official announcement......we're so excited to partner with such amazing organizations that make meeting the needs of our clients successful and worthwhile.
