In 2024, the unemployment rate for people with disabilities in Alabama was nearly double that of those without. For many young people with disabilities, especially high school students preparing for adulthood, the path to employment remains filled with barriers.

Tiffany and Kimberly, her Occupational Therapist, spent the afternoon baking cookies for a birthday party and having a blast doing it!

More than just cookie-making, it was hands-on learning, building life skills, confidence, and independence.This joyful progress happens because of a community that believes all things are possible and walks alongside every step of the journey.

Our Employment Services Program and Transition Team facilitated a workplace tour for St. Clair County High School students at the Hope Thrift Store. During the visit, students received a guided tour of the facility, participated in volunteer activities, and performed various real work tasks as part of their career exploration experience.
