Rev. Cyrus & Jeralyn Pickett's Vision Blossoms at Brewster Road Community Church

This spring, a beautiful vision planted by Rev. Cyrus Pickett and his wife, Jeralyn Pickett, began to take root at Brewster Road Community Church. The couple envisioned a community garden that would not only provide fresh produce but also serve as a living testament to the power of faith, hard work, and community spirit.

Under their guidance, the children and youth of the church embarked on a hands-on journey of planting a wide range of vegetables and fruits. The garden, nurtured by young hands and guided by the Picketts, became a source of learning, joy, and spiritual growth for the church’s younger members.

Today marked a significant milestone in this ongoing project as the children harvested the fruits of their labor—literally. Watermelons, ripe and ready, were picked from the garden and excitedly taken home by the young gardeners, a tangible reward for their dedication and care.

In the accompanying photo, Rev. Pickett shares Biblical truths with the children, using the garden as a powerful metaphor for spiritual growth. His loving presence and wise words further enrich the experience, transforming a simple harvest into a deeper understanding of faith, patience, and the rewards of nurturing both plants and one's spiritual life.

The community garden at Brewster Road Community Church stands as a living symbol of the Picketts' dedication to fostering both the physical and spiritual well-being of Brewster Road Community Church - BRCC. It is a place where seeds of faith are sown, tended, and harvested, much like the vibrant watermelons that now grace the homes of the church’s young members.
