Me & my brother
Birmingham’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) plan is coming together and the project should come to fruition in the next couple years. I have spoken to the consultants and they are open to consider allowing bicycles also in the (bus only) BRT lanes. I’ve been to other cities where the bus only lanes also allowed bicycles. In my opinion these bus only routes would make great bicycle routes too. At the meetings that I’ve attended I’ve been the only voice making this request. Please click on the link below; at the bottom of that web page click on add your comments to request allowing bicycles in these lanes.

http://birminghamtransitprogram.org/project-survey/bus-rapid-transit-project/

The route of the BRT lanes are from the new downtown Intermodal Facility downtown:
Headed East/ 1st Ave. N. into Woodlawn;
Headed West/ Thru UAB to 6th Ave. S. continuing to MLK Blvd. continuing on Lomb Ave. to the CrossPlex and 5 Points West.

The Bici Cooperative was founded in 2009 with a goal to create easy and equal access to cycling. Volunteer

Half of the net proceeds from the Rockcrusher Challenge this Saturday go to supporting the Starkville Cycling Club. Two of their big priorities this year are building new trails in Starkville on 23 acres at JL King Park. These trails will support a second big priority of building a NICA youth cycling team which will usher a new generation of athletes into the cycling community.

We are proud to partner with Boardtown Bikes and Starkville Cycling Club to build a strong biking community.

We have been posting a lot about the upcoming Birmingham Bakers Dozen, but this event will have a much greater impact to our community. Anyone and everyone that can attend should, we finally have city leaders that are interested in moving our city forward in regards to non-motorized traffic and city planning. If we dont support their efforts and give input now, we will only have ourselves to blame later.

Today is your chance to show your support for the Richard Arrington / Vulcan Greenway project! Stop by Vulcan Park and Museum (Electra Event Room) any time between 4-6 PM to review the plans, ask questions, and (most importantly) show your support!

The proposed changes accommodate pedestrians and bikes on the road up to and beyond Vulcan Park.This is a critical link for the Red Rock Trail System, which has the potential to connect the Five Points area to Red Mountain Park and beyond!

[01/16/18]   I would post a picture but giftcards are not that photogenic regardless of how amazing they are to us. Dont have any doubt how amazinng these cards from Mulberry Gap Mountain Bike Get-A-Way, Winslet & Rhys, and Bobs Bikes. Thanks to all our sponsors for their support.

01/16/2018

Super excited to announce that our awesome sponsor Hattie B's Hot Chicken- Birmingham, Alabama will be providing post ride munchies.

01/16/2018

First Avenue Rocks and Birmingham Boulders raffle pickups never disappoint! Thanks for the gear and gift cards. Be on the lookout for the the day passes when on course.

[01/16/18]   Update, both returning KOM and QOM will be returning to defend their crowns!!! Thanks to Michael Lambert and Katherine Sweatt for their continued support.

[01/12/18]   We need a few people that are interested in volunteering to help with he event and timing. If anyone you know might be interest please send us a message.
