We want to give a great big thank you to Laurie and her team at Tractor Supply Co. for hosting our adoption event today! We had two dogs go out on trial and lots of conversations with potential fosters and adopters!! 🙏🏼 We ended up with some very tired, well socialized babies still looking for their forever homes! They are 100% good dogs and ready to go! Fill out an application if you’re interested!!

Well said!
📣 PSA: Please DO NOT Pick Up Dogs While Traveling Through Reservation Communities!!! 📣 Rez Dog Rescue of Montana does not take dogs that are picked up by travelers while passing through reservation communities. We only take owner surrenders and confirmed strays. If you've contacted us before and felt discouraged when we were unable to help, or when we encouraged you to return the dog, we’re sorry to disappoint you but please know there is an important reason behind it.
While picking up a dog may feel like the right thing to do in the moment, it can actually be harmful to the dog, the family it may belong to, and the long-term work being done in these communities. It also creates reputational damage for the rescues working hard in these areas. Building trust, maintaining respectful relationships, and honoring community boundaries is absolutely essential if we want to continue advocating for increased veterinary access, spay/neuter services, and resources where they're needed most! We know this can sometimes feel counterintuitive to rescue work, but sustainable change only happens when we work with communities and not around them. So please, if you encounter a dog while traveling, resist the urge to assume it needs to be removed. Protecting dogs also means protecting the trust and relationships that allow us to keep helping them. 🐾
