My thought on these shots was to get something early then if I think I can pan and zoom in simultaneously while keeping composition then I can try for a tighter shot as he trotted across this ridge top...Frame ZZZ1500, ZZZ1501, ZZZ1507

Try as I might to support local business' I've decided to end doing business with Kenmore Camera. Back to B&H, Robert's and Allen's for me.
While the morning light wasn't what I had hoped for it never the less did allow for some shooting.....I shot these on a Nikon Z9 camera with a lens that Nikon considers to be a consumer grade lens, not a pro level lens. These and all of my shots from last Tuesday up in the Skagit were shot on this Nikon Z 180-600mm f5.6-6.3 VR lens and my shots were hand held. Overall I was happy with this lens, it was fast to focus, the controls were right where you want them and it was easy to go from 180mm all the way out to 600mm in less than a turn of your wrist....that's a big plus for me.... sure makes it easy to find your subject at 180 and then immediately be able to zero in to 600 for tracking and getting those shots. Definitely more lens and performance than I expected for the $$$.
Score 1 for the Shortie!
Pretty quiet in the courtyard today.... lotsa wind but this little cutie stopped by for a visit..... here's a link to my 15 shot gallery on my photography website; https://silverbearphotography.smugmug.com/Chick-A-Dee-Visitor-
