⚠️ Harbor Safety Reminder – Derelict Docks
The Harbormaster’s Office recently located a derelict floating dock adrift in the harbor. Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon occurrence and serves as an important reminder for all waterfront property owners.
Docks require regular maintenance and are required to be kept in safe condition as part of their permitting requirements. When docks fall into disrepair and break free, they can become serious navigation hazards.
We ask all dock owners to inspect their structures regularly and address any maintenance concerns before they become a safety issue.
If you observe a derelict dock or floating debris that may pose a hazard, please contact the Beverly Harbormaster’s Office so we can investigate and work to identify the responsible owner.
Thank you for helping us keep Beverly Harbor safe. ⚓

Lobster season is just around the corner, and our fleet is hard at work getting ready.
With all the ongoing construction around the new fisherman’s hoist pier, it has not been easy, but these guys do not slow down. They have adapted, worked around the challenges, and are still getting the job done.
It is a great reminder of the grit and resilience that defines our waterfront. Proud to support this fleet and the work they do every day. 🦞💪
If you see them out there, give them a wave. They have earned it.

We’re pleased to share a first look at our new Life Proof patrol vessel, currently under construction on the West Coast. This 27-foot emergency service vessel is designed for safety and response capability. This project is primarily funded through the Port Security Grant Program, with the remaining matching cost shared with the Beverly Harbor Management Authority.
We’re looking forward to bringing this important addition home. Anticipated arrival this fall. ⚓

Respect the Water. Know the Rules.
Starting today, new boating safety requirements are officially taking effect across the state.
If you were born after January 1, 1989, you are now required (as of April 1, 2026) to have a valid Boater Safety Certification to operate a registered vessel.
If you were born before 1989, you will need to obtain your certification by April 1, 2028.
These changes are designed to improve safety on the water for everyone. If you have not already done so, now is a great time to complete an approved boating safety course and get certified.
Stay safe and enjoy the boating season. 🧑✈️⚓🌊
