Great moment of respect prior to Rangers home opener vs Sabres when Larry McGee of the FDNY gave this helmet to Mark Messier. The firefighter helmet belonged to Larrys friend and colleague - missing Chief Downey - and had a picture of him in the front. The late Ray Downey was one of those hundreds of heroic firefighters and rescue workers who risked their lives and eventually died for saving thousands of lives in September of '01.
