What an awesome afternoon with the 1st graders at Pemberton! Over 30 parents joined us to help make the event extra special, alongside the incredible teachers and support staff who always go above and beyond for their students.

People often ask "What exactly do you do for a living?" Well. That's a hard one to answer. What people see is a women-owned small business that brings hands-on science experiences to young children and the adults who teach them. We specialize in early childhood STEM/STEAM education through engaging experiments, interactive events, and professional development for educators.

But... behind the scenes a lot has to happen before that event takes place. Here's a glimpse into how we prepare. Everything from dying hundreds of pounds of rice for sensory tubes and bins, to packing individualized kits so that teachers can have a lot less prep work in their already crazy day!

These amazing ladies dedicated three hours — and some even six hours — of their Saturday to complete our Elevate and Empower and Blast into Science professional development sessions.

Thanks to generous support from Maryland Family Network and Child Resource Connect, participants walked away with tons of take-home science materials, including lab equipment and journals packed with tips and tricks for bringing science into their centers. To top it off, 14 lucky winners received Science Start-Up Kits at the end of the second session.

It's not an assembly. It's not a show. It's a fully immersive, hands on experience!

Last Thursday and Friday, we had the incredible privilege of delivering four hours of “Out of This World” Science with the entire student body at Willards Elementary and their amazing staff. Nearly 400 students dove into hands-on fun — creating bubbling rocket fuel slime, explosive blast-off eruptions, and mesmerizing space sensory jars.

This large-scale event would not have been possible without the outstanding support of the teachers and staff. Our heartfelt thanks to them and to Principal Jen Rice for hosting us.
