Story time! This month, we feature NCCGAPNA member Rebecca (Becky) Spear, DNP, ARNP, AGPCNP-C, who sought out experiences working with older adults while pursuing her undergraduate studies in psychology. She works on an interdisciplinary team in a skilled nursing department and will bring her "experience in skilled nursing to successfully bridge patients back to the outpatient setting." She is passionate about GAPNA, taking an active role as NCCGAPNA Secretary. She also has an active lifestyle, crewing for her husband's hot air balloon company and completing half and full marathons! This month, we feature NCCGAPNA member , GNP-BC, GS-C who was drawn to gerontology after having seen "many people suffer needlessly through procedures and surgeries that would not really help them improve their quality of life." She provides home-based palliative care for frail older adults. She enjoys helping people navigate through a complex health system. Story time! This month, we feature NCCGAPNA member Deborah Wolff Baker MSN, ACHPN, FNP-BC, GS-C, who was inspired by her grandparents and their extraordinary pursuits. She has found innovative ways to provide care to older adults in a variety of settings. Deborah is also a leader on multiple committees and advocates for older adults and their families in the political arena.
