This Friday 6/21 is the summer solstice race & party to mark the halfway point in the Friday Night Racing season. We’ll sail a long course, keep the kitchen open late, and party even later with DJ Kenny in the bar. Mid-season awards, prizes, and much more!

⛵️: First warning at 6:40 at BYC buoy.
🍔: Dinner bell at 7:00 for grill-your-own and BBQ specialities.
🕺: Drink specials and party with a DJ all evening.

Friday Races have no entry fee and are open to all, no club affiliation required. Want to crew? Arrive at O-dock at 6:00pm to get on a boat.

One of the members brought this marvellous cookie back from the dinner at where they'd made them to match the pennants of each participating team! He said he is going to skipper our boat at tomorrow's race, but didn't want to get photographed so instead look at this absolutely fantastic cookie.

A Tale of Two Ships: Golden Moon (Express 37) vs Can O Whopass (Cal 20) getting ready for the 2024 - Rollo Wheeler Regatta to Benefit Special Olympics

The Rollo Wheeler Regatta is back for 51st year! Join us on April 6th and 7th for a race and party full of tradition! We will be awarding The Wheeler Memorial Perpetual Trophy and The City of Berkeley Trophy to the winners of the buoy racing groups on Saturday followed by a pursuit race on Sunday.

This year the race and dinner will benefit the Special Olympics. Regatta participants are invited to join BYC members for a dinner party featuring oysters, lasagna, drinks, music, and more.

Sign up for the race now on jibeset.net, and RSVP for the party on berkeleyyc.org.

A successful first Friday Night Race of 2024 yesterday, with a total of 13 boats and 10 spinnakers in gentle wind, capped off by the sunset (pictured). The BYC kitchen served up smoked ribs and links in addition to the traditional grill your own menu. See you next week!
