[07/15/15]   Lot# TBD 1966 Chevy Impala SS- 454/LS6, XAA Code, 4-Speed

To be auctioned Saturday, July 18, 2015.

The car is a Chevy 1966 Impala original Super Sport, not totally stock, VIN 168, born in L.A. from Colorado restomod. Has won many awards, including Best of Show, Best GM, Best paint, Best engine, and a Top 100 at the Car Craft Nationals. Has only been driven to shows and out to eat, about 3500 miles since completed.

The engine is a factory replacement for 1970 LS6 454/450HP Chevelle. This engine ending with the XAA code, has been for sale on Ebay for $10k or more. The engine was at the time the largest cubic inch/horsepower engine in a factory production car. Was underrated for insurance purposes, most magazines rated it at 500HP plus. Engine is all GM, never been apart, or made into a LS6 at a machine shop. It has the big square port heads, solid lifter camshaft, ceramic coated headers, steel crank, forged pistons and rods, 4 bolt mains, factory Holley carb, and a factory aluminum intake. The engine and compartment is all painted and detailed and very clean. All aluminum parts are hand brushed to give it a different look then the usual chrome look. All wiring is mostly hidden to give it a clean, simple look. The engine is the focal point of the car!!

The exterior of the car is a beautiful black base coat/clear coat, sanded and buffed paint job. The car is from Colorado with original Protector Plate, owner’s manual, and LS6 engine receipt. The car has no rust ever and is very straight.

Interior is very nice black with the middle part of the seats redone in a swede cloth for more comfort. Has the optional rare factory gauges, plus gauges in the glove compartment with a MSD ignition setup. Has an Autometer tachometer and shift light, and also the optional factory tach. Has a great sounding stereo.

The chassis is also painted, detailed, and clean. Has a M21 Muncie factory 4 speed, and factory 12 bolt 3/73 ratio positraction rear end. Again, no rust ever on frame, floor pans, trunk pan, etc. Front brakes have been converted to disc with a power booster and dual master cylinder. Also has factory power steering.

Trunk also is painted, detailed, and clean with full size spare. Battery has been relocated to the trunk to clean up the look of the engine compartment.

The car is an early muscle car that has been built to look like a sleeper. Black look, with red detailing, flat caps, and factory like badging.

Overall, an excellent show/driver car to enjoy. . . .

1959 Stainless Steel Roadster Custom

This vehicle was purchased from the estate of a 96 year-old professional mechanic/craftsman/designer/custom car builder and lifelong Harley motorcycle enthusiast. He started this project in 1965, using a late 1950s Ford running gear, with the engine set back 2 ½ feet for easy maneuverability. He was a true lover of the classics and was never satisfied with mediocrity. Therefore, he hand-shaped this stainless steel-bodied vehicle to pay tribute to the 1928 Mercedes SSK and the modern day Brooks Stevens designed Excaliber, complete with original stainless steel header pipes. It is equipped with a 351 Cleveland engine for ease of starting, smooth-running reliability and that great V-8 sound. It has a 3-speed floor shifter automatic transmission with a positraction rear end. To aid in stopping, it has dual reservoir power brakes that stop easy, true, and on a dime! The car is built with 4 chrome headlights, 2 of which turn with the wheels to illuminate the road.

Aside from the meticulously polished, hand-formed stainless steel body, the car is adorned with a copper hood and side hood aprons, gold finished cycle fenders complete with rolled, curved stainless steel fender mounts, true spoke wire wheels with spinner hubcaps, and Goodyear polyester whitewall tires on all 4 corners with the spare frenched into the rear deck. It features curved stainless steel bumpers, with matching exhaust heat shields at each door.

The custom chocolate leather bench seat, which tilts forward for easy access to the trunk/storage compartment, is complemented by the period 1950s black “Turnpike” carpet with gold threading, which coordinates with the black cloth convertible top with real glass rear window. The door cards are covered in leather and trimmed at the bottom with Turnpike carpeting, and include a storage pocket in the passenger side kick panel. There is a 0 degree custom wood steering wheel, door latches with Smith and Wesson handles, and a genuine mahogany wood dash with a very clean Stewart-Warner gauge display. Custom made chrome trimmed wing windows and chrome mirrors complete the look.

Much has been said and many adjectives have been used to describe cars, builders and finished projects in car ads over the years. The quality of the workmanship and the skill exhibited in the forming and welding of the stainless steel body is truly beyond compare, and must be seen to be appreciated. Don’t let this one get away!

Included with the purchase of the car is a photo album which documents this build from start to finish.

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 4-Speed - Documented

When considering the greatest muscle cars of all time, there are two different mindsets. The first mindset conjures up images of the gaudy-colored muscle cars with stripes, graphics, and a 30+ option build sheet. The other mindset brings this car to life! An all-business Chevelle LS6 with a subtle color combination and an option list that only includes "go fast" options. This car was obviously ordered for one purpose and one purpose only; to cover 1,320 feet of pavement as quickly as possible! Optioned with the lightest interior available, a bench seat with no console and no frills to slow it down. Under the hood lies the biggest, baddest block Chevrolet has ever put into a production car, the 450 horsepower LS6 454 with a Muncie M-22 "Rock Crusher" 4-speed bolted behind it. At the end of the driveshaft sits a brute strength 12 bolt rear end with 4:10 gears that puts all that power to the pavement. This "single belt" LS6 4-speed has no power-robbing or extra weight options such as power steering, tilt wheel, or power windows.

It seems every car show these days has at least one 307 Malibu with SS badging and a 454 that's "believed to be" a real LS6. However, this is a no-excuse car complete with an original build sheet and is 100% numbers-matching from front-to-back. It has undergone a complete rotisserie, nut and bolt, no expense-spared restoration. This Chevelle won Concours Gold at MCACN (Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals) in 2013. This is a pedigree car fit for the most discriminating muscle car collector! Here is your opportunity to own a true piece of American history!

The 1971 Chevy Nova body style has been the platform that hot rodders have used for many years. They are light, sporty and easy to bolt any engine/ transmission combo imaginable.
