TDA staff are putting the final touches on the first application opportunities for 2022. The Downtown Revitalization Program, Colonia Fund: Construction Program, and Fire Ambulance and Service Truck (FAST) Fund applications will be released in the coming weeks. Included in each of these applications is the following policy:

"TDA recommends conducting one public hearing per year to address current needs and identify potential future funding opportunities. For all TxCDBG grant applications for Program Year 2022 funding, a public hearing conducted on or after January 1, 2022, will be accepted unless the hearing notice limited the topic of discussion to specific funding categories."

TDA encourages applicants to schedule their hearings now if you are considering applying for TxCDBG funding in 2022! Several grant applications include points awarded for applicants that conducted their public hearing early in the process, allowing ample time to consider public concerns and needs when selecting a project for the TxCDBG application(s).

For more information on TxCDBG Programs, go here-https://texasagriculture.gov/.../RuralCommunityDevelopmen...

For information on eligibility for these programs, reach out to Dominic Elizondo, [email protected].

The DDCT has recently approved its first Small Business Resiliency Award Program! This is a program that will recognize small businesses across the DDCT region comprised of Bell, Lampasas, Coryell, San Saba, Hamilton, Milam, and Mills Counties, who have demonstrated a successful “pivot” of their business during the COVID-19 Pandemic, or have been an example of a resilient business.

The process for recognizing a small business is begins with each Chamber of Commerce nominating one small business that is part of its membership using the attached nomination form DDCT has created for this program. These nomination forms are then sent to the County Judge for the County which the Chamber resides. Each County Judge selects one awardee out of the nominees for their County; this means there will be 7 total awards in our region.
All awardees will receive a Certificate from the Office of the Governor recognizing that business for their resiliency during a pandemic and difficult economic conditions.

One awardee will be selected in a random drawing at the April DDCT Board meeting to be sponsored for its annual Leadership Central Texas Program over the summer.
The deadline for nominations to be sent to County Judges will be Friday, Mar.4, 2022, with awardees for each County chosen by Friday, Mar.11, 2022.

The nomination form for Chambers to use can be found here:
