Job Title: Associate
Job Summary:
An associate is responsible for actions related to customer service. This consists of: directing customers to desired products, training the customer about product information, personalizing assistance to match customer needs, processing sales and transactions, checking-in merchandise and properly recording customer orders. Time is split between sales floor and backroom, so cross-training is pertinent.
Essential Job Tasks:
Ring up items on the computer system, track customer loyalty, accept payment and record all aspects accordingly
Must be friendly with customer at all times
Greet customers immediately upon enter the store
Work with energy and a sense of urgency
Be knowledgeable of all product on the floor or know where to find any information
Be able to share information with customers and other employees
Able to take verbal and/or written directions from managers
Mindful of look and accessibility of sales floor at all times
Use diligence and precision when adding name, price and other product information into the inventory system and marking product after
Able to assist customers through special order process
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school degree or equivalent, preferably pursuing an Associates Degree.
2. Passionate and goal oriented.
3. Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in customer service.
4. Be friendly, professional and confident in communication.
5. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Experience in retail preferred, but not required.
8. Knowledgeable of sporting good products, particularly baseball bats and gloves and football equipment preferred.
