Stephania said, "As I sat in the academic advisor's office at Temple College wondering how I was going to pay for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, I saw a flyer on the wall that advertised support from Workforce for low-income Surgical Tech students. Curious about whether other programs were supported, I called the Workforce office that afternoon, and was thrilled to learn that all Allied Health programs were covered."

The Juneteenth holiday commemorates the day Union soldiers arrived at Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, with news that the Civil War had ended and enslaved African Americans were free.

Juneteenth was signed into law as a federal holiday last year.

Congratulations to the second group of students who completed Cyber Security Camp at Texas A&M University-Central Texas.

The camp was open to high school students in the Central Texas region at no cost.

They learned about cyber security basics, such as creating strong passwords and making sure you have a safe internet connection so you don’t get hacked. 💻
