Because of the newly proposed jail, the WREC has recently reached out to Prison Policy Initiative, a criminal justice non-partisan non-profit, to see if we really need a bigger jail and this was their response!

We’d also like to thank the wonderful community members who stopped by our table to play our trivia games. The Whatcom Racial Equity
Commission conducted a data analysis last fall on racial disparities within Whatcom County to confront inequities across public systems through informed policy, community engagement, and data-driven accountability, and to recommend equity driven actions that benefit the whole community.

Thanks for spending the day full of color, community, and celebration in Bellingham! 🌈🎨 It was so much fun playing trivia with folks from all across Whatcom County, and we were so glad to learn more about the Holi traditon.
