Here's a fun way to support Achieve! From December 7-13, if you shop at Launching Success, tell them you are shopping for ALC and we will receive 10% of your purchase. Even out-of-town friends and family can help support our school by buying a Christmas present or homeschool supplies from Launching Success during this week.

Our Sewing Class kicks off on November 6! Anna Nieuwendorp will teach the basics of machine sewing in this hands-on program designed for beginners!

The dates of the class are: November 6th, November 13th, November 20th, (one week off for Thanksgiving), and final class date is December 4th.

Over 4 weeks, you’ll complete 3 fun projects while gaining essential skills like:
- Machine setup & maintenance
- Hemming & pattern reading
- Working with stretch fabrics
- Garment construction

📣 Meet Our New Teacher: Clara Lind! 📚✍️

We are thrilled to welcome Clara Lind to the Achieve Learning Center team!

Born and raised in Whatcom County, Clara brings a rich love for literature, language, and learning. She was homeschooled through high school, completed Running Start at Whatcom Community College, and graduated with honors from George Fox University with a B.A. in English.

While at GFU, Clara was active in the Honors Program, theater, and several student clubs—and she loved helping fellow students succeed through tutoring in the Academic Resource Center.

Clara has a deep passion for reading and writing—not just as academic tools, but as powerful ways to connect with others, understand the world, and grow in faith. She believes that stories shape hearts and minds, and she delights in guiding children as they find their own voices and discover the beauty of God's truth.

This year, Clara will be teaching:

🕵️‍♀️ Story Detectives (formerly Golden Grades)
✍️ Introductory Language Arts
📖 Upper Elementary Language Arts

When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll likely find her reading classic literature, knitting, drinking coffee, or deep in a great theology discussion.

Taught by Ms. Sierra Spring | 2x Weekly | Full Year Curriculum

This flexible and supportive math course is designed to meet students right where they are—whether they need extra reinforcement or are ready to move ahead.

At the beginning of the year, each student will:
📊 Complete a placement assessment to determine math level
📘 Receive a grade-level workbook aligned with their needs
🧠 Practice core concepts in a structured, supportive environment
🧮 Strengthen skills in problem-solving, computation & critical thinking
🎯 Receive guidance tailored to their individual pace and learning style

With a blend of instruction, independent practice, and classroom support, this course helps students build confidence in math while preparing them for high school-level work.
