Bring Back KitKat
KitKat was taken from his family on April 1, 2025 in Bellflower, California. Help to bring him home! https://gofund.me/121747f31

Last protest, Dawn and her crew walked down the street and around the corner to confront us before we even started.
This video shows Dawn coming in hot, though she did eventually calm down and show some openness.
But there’s still a lot of unfinished business, and KitKat’s family (or “Carter,” as the rescue renamed him) deserves real answers. This Saturday, November 8th at 11am — we’re showing up, speaking up, and exercising our First Amendment rights. Be there!

Legal Action & GoFundMe Alert!
💔 KitKat’s family has been searching since April 1st, when their 3-year-old pup slipped out the door and never came home. After months of searching, they found him listed for adoption by a rescue but instead of reuniting him, the rescue refused to return him. Imagine losing your dog of 3 years… and being told you can’t have him back because someone else ‘loves him too.’
Now, the family is fighting back legally to bring KitKat home — but they need help covering a $2,500 legal retainer. 🐾
If everyone gave just $10, they could reach their goal and finally get KitKat back where he belongs. Please donate & share!

Spicy Circus Act Edition—PROTEST RECAP
🚨 HELP BRING KITKAT HOME GoFundMe link below and in bio 🚨 https://gofund.me/f691536a8
Before we even started the protest, the kids were peacefully making posters for KitKat when staff from Fur Baby Rescue and Westside German Shepherd Rescue left their office, walked down the street, and came around the corner to confront us.
What followed…felt like a spicy circus act mixed with a whole lot of crazy-making.
One Westside GSD staff member crossed physical boundaries, got way into a supporter’s personal space, and even tried to take photos of license plates scaring the kids in the process. She was so close the supporter said she could smell her body odor. You can see in some of the photos just how close she was.
Another staff member harassed supporters and called KitKat’s family “fing crackheads”* in front of their children.
We remained peaceful. They didn’t.
We were simply teaching the kids what a protest is; a safe and calm way to speak up when something is wrong.
Instead, they were met with yelling, boundary-crossing, F-bombs, and blatant disrespect.
We stayed grounded.
The circus came to us.
And we showed the kids what a protest really is.

The kids were making posters for KitKat when staff from Fur Baby Rescue and Westside German Shepherd Rescue stormed over. One man harassed supporters and called KitKat’s family ‘fing crackheads’*—right in front of their children. We stayed peaceful. They didn’t.
We showed up to protest — and let’s just say things got a little spicy.
Our plan was a peaceful protest. KitKat’s brothers and sister made their own signs, and the family connected with supporters, friends, and kind strangers who showed up to stand with them.
Then came a confrontation from Dawn Vargas herself and a few others who weren’t so peaceful. Some even tried taking pictures of supporters’ cars and license plates (yep, really) and made comments about people bringing kids to a protest.
I’m still getting videos from people who were there, and I’ll share a few of the “spicier” moments soon. For now, here are some photos of KitKat’s family and supporters walking calmly past the rescue, holding signs, handing out flyers, and showing up with love and courage.
Dawn implied she might be “more willing to work with the family” if we didn’t protest so, out of good faith and compromise, everyone walked peacefully, got some photos and videos, and continued spreading awareness the right way.
KitKat’s family showed up with grace, not anger. And that’s the kind of love worth fighting for.

Our plan was a peaceful protest. KitKat’s brothers and sister made their own signs, and the family connected with supporters, friends, and kind strangers who showed up to stand with them.
Before we even started walking, though, staff from Fur Baby Rescue and the German Shepherd rescue next door came around the corner. We were simply talking with the kids about what a protest is and why it’s important to show up for something you believe in,
especially for family.
Then came a confrontation from Dawn Vargas herself and a few others who weren’t so peaceful. Some even tried taking pictures of supporters’ cars and license plates (yep, really) and made comments about people bringing kids to a protest.
One of our supporters said it best in a video: “It was peaceful until you showed up.”
Here’s the thing, we have every right under the First Amendment to peacefully protest, to speak up, and to tell the truth. Standing on a public sidewalk, holding signs, and using our voices for justice isn’t harassment, it’s freedom.
