Visitation for Rob Thornton is Friday, March 4, 2022 from 4-8 pm at the Macagna, Diffily, Onorato Funeral Home, 41 Ames Avenue, Rutherford, NJ 07070

A Tow Truck Procession will stage on Veterans Boulevard (facing South) in Rutherford, NJ beginning at 3 pm. The procession will begin at 3:45 pm led by the Rutherford Police Department and other local Police Department Motorcycle Units.

A member of our Nick’s Towing Service family, operator Rob Thornton, was struck by an out of control vehicle late Saturday night, February 12th. Rob was safely performing his duties, tending to an accident loading a car on the shoulder of the road. The Rutherford Police Department had shut down several lanes and the shoulder while placing their vehicles and cones behind the initial two-car crash scene in the Westbound lanes of Route 3. A secondary accident occurred behind the original accident scene, and one of those vehicles barreled uncontrolled through the safety area the RPD set up and struck Rob.
We are asking all our friends, customers, and the community to please pray for Rob. He remains in extremely critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

American Towman Expo 2021

Another great year in Baltimore at the tow pageant. Lots of beautiful trucks and equipment, but super proud of our guys at Nicolette’s that spent a lot of hours and late nights to get this beauty ready for the show.

We didn’t place this year, but always a winner.

How to show appreciation to truckers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week? We have a few ideas. For today, here's idea #1: Give that trucker the gift of space. Trucks take up to three times as much space to come to a stop as the average passenger car. That could mean the length of two football fields for trucks traveling at 65 mph. Make sure you can see the entire front end of the truck in your mirror before you merge in front of it. Give the big rigs room to maneuver.

In memory of the man who started it all, my grandfather, at almost 92 years old unfortunately passed away last night. He was a very well known man not just because of the business he established in 1943 but also a well known stock car driver from back in the day. He was one of the most caring, loving, and hard working men you'd ever meet. Thank you for the wonderful years, laughs, and good memories I was able to share with you. RIP Pops you will truly be missed by all.
