And they say romance is ๐? Farmer Katie has come clean about her farm fav; whoโs yours?
Pony ASMR! ๐ When animals do it, itโs cute, but if itโs a human making mouth noises, itโs the worst ever, are we right? ๐
Have you ever had your salami sandwich swiped by a hen? ๐ซถThe sweet laughter is coming from perhaps the biggest chicken lover weโve ever met, one of our Farmer for a Day campers, Robert!
๐๐ฃWord got out about a new, bigger coop in the works, and the flock was extra eager this morning! Help us give these chickens the space they need by supporting our coop expansion fundraiser - the link is in our bio. Every bit brings us closer to a cozy, spacious home for our feathered friends! ๐๐ฃ https://sites.google.com/theeducationalfarm.org/joppahillfarm/support-us/new-chicken-coop
Today, we said goodbye to Hiolair and Kayne, the majestic Gypsy Vanner horses, and their bestie, Chanel the cow, as they made their way back home to their beautifully restored pasture. A huge thank you to their wonderful owners, Ashlee and Frank Maillett, who have become such dear friends to the farm. Weโve been so lucky to have these beautiful animals with us, sharing their funny personalities and antics through summer camp, and the changing seasons. They brought so much joy to Suzie, Bessie, our visitors and volunteers alike, and weโll all miss them dearly. ๐ Safe travels, Hiolair, Kayne, and Chanelโyouโll always have a special place in our hearts! ๐
๐๐ฃ Happy 1-Month Birthday to our little chick crew! ๐ฃ๐ Our curious chicks are still cozy in the barn, but theyโd love to know what you think! Of the 12 little ones, how many do you think will grow up to be hens, and how many will be roosters? Drop your guesses below!๐ ๐๐ฅ While we wait to find out, hereโs some fun facts: around 18-weeks old, hens will start laying eggs, and weโll hear the roosters crowing a bit sooner, around 4-5 months! At full size, the roosters will have those big, bright red combs and wattles that give them away. Make your predictions and stay tuned as we watch them grow! ๐ฅ๐ธ cred. ๐ Kacie #FarmLife #BabyChicks #JoppaHillEducationalFarm
Itโs recently come to our attention that some of you didnโt know that cows can get the zoomies too! ๐ Can you guess who won this race between Farmer Katie, Mabel, and Ester? ๐ vs ๐
