@northwellhealth - South Shore University Hospital team stopped by today. 23 departments within South Shore University Hospital came together to brighten the lives of our veterans. They went above and beyond filling a box truck with beautifully wrapped present for 35 single veterans living within our housing program. A special thank you to Angela Capone from Community Relations and Jennifer Suarez in HR for coordinating the team.

For 17 years these ladies have been brightening the holidays for our veteran families. We want to thank the members @vfwpost9592 vfwpost9592 Auxillary & American Legion Auxillary Post 1082 for their dedication and generosity- they go above and beyond to fulfill every wish on the list! Thanks to them will be a lot of smiling facing on Christmas morning.
Boy Scout Troop 474 of East Northport assembled and sold 800 wreaths for their annual fundraiser. This year they decided to spread the cheer and asked their families and community members to donated their purchased wreaths to veterans across LI.l, as a result 70 wreaths were donated back. Boy Scout Terrance Byrnes stopped by with 37 of those wreaths for the veterans we serve!
Today marks the 80th Anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. We honor and remember all who were lost on that day.
Case manager Deanna had the honor of helping a family legacy live on. Sadly the burial flag of a WWII Purple Heart recipient was lost during a house fire. It was with deep gratitude and admiration that we presented a replacement flag to his daughter.

Beacon House was spreading the warmth this morning at the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency Winter Stand Down. Case managers Deanna and Kelly were giving out handmade winter blankets to LI Heroes. We want to thank Mary B and for making these fantastic blankets and @intellishift_vts for sponsoring Mary’s efforts.
Tonight our veterans were invited to the @ny_islanders Thanksgiving Meal Event. Thanks to the teams kindness and generosity more than 50 Veterans in our programs will enjoy a complete holiday feast prepared by @stewleonards
Today Paul Plante, a father, and Vietnam veteran came in to make a $5,000 donation in honor of his son Brian Matthew Plante. Sadly the Plante family lost Brian far too early to suicide. They made it their mission to honor Brian by supporting organizations that assist people during their most difficult times.
We want to thank the Plante Family for choosing Beacon House as their first donor recipient. We are honored that you shared Brian's story with us and deeply grateful for your trust in us.
