The Greater Baton Rouge Alumnae Panhellenic advocates for and supports the growth of the sorority experience within citizens of the Baton Rouge Area.
The Greater Baton Rouge Alumnae Panhellenic (BRAP) Chapter is the local chapter of the National Panhellenic Council (NPC), which is the premier advocacy and support organization for the advancement of the sorority experience. BRAP aims to foster relations between NPC alumnae in the Greater Baton Rouge Area. BRAP is composed of delegates from the 26 NPC chapters, and four committees:
Finance and Administrative Committee:
The Finance and Administrative Committee shall be in charge of monitoring and making decisions related to the financial operation of the organization as well as administrative components such as the periodic review of these bylaws. The Chairwoman of the Finance and Administrative Committee shall be the Treasurer. Membership and Public Relations Committee: The Membership and Public Relations Committee shall oversee the communication strategies of the organization and its duties shall include recruitment of potential members and delegates. The Chairwoman of the Membership and Public Relations Committee shall be the Secretary. Recruitment Committee:
The Recruitment Committee shall be in charge of the organizations participation in recruitment (including any events for incoming students relating to recruitment generally and arranging for sponsorship letters for potential members of collegiate chapters of the National Panhellenic Conference fraternities). The Chairwoman of the Recruitment Committee shall be the President Elect. Programming and Fundraising Committee:
The Programming and Fundraising Committee shall be in charge of planning, resourcing and managing fundraising and other social and special events of the organization as well as outreach to potential donors and other resources. The Chairwoman of the Programming and Fundraising Committee shall be appointed by the President. For more information on how to join BRAP, please email [email protected].

The National Panhellenic Conference provides support and guidance for its 26 member inter/national sororities/women’s fraternities and serves as the national voice on contemporary issues of sorority life. Founded in 1902, NPC is one of the oldest and largest women’s membership organizations representing more than 4 million women at 655 college/university campuses and 4,500 local alumnae chapters in the U.S. and Canada. Each year, NPC-affiliated collegians and alumnae donate more than $5 million to worthy causes, provide $2.8 million in scholarships to women and volunteer 500,000 hours in their communities.

🐧🧭Congratulations to the Beta Epsilon Chapter of Theta Phi Alpha at Southeastern Louisiana University! 🧭🐧
💙The Beta Epsilon Chapter was recognized at Theta Phi Alpha’s 55th National Convention held at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, receiving two prestigious national awards.
🏆 Otilia Leuchtweis O’Hara Chapter Improvement Award – Presented to the collegiate chapter demonstrating the greatest improvement over the past two years in new members initiated, chapter size, and grade point average.
🏆 Gloria Neises Chapter Advisory Board Award – Awarded to Beta Epsilon’s Chapter Advisory Board for providing outstanding guidance and support to the collegiate chapter over the past two years.

⚓️🏆 Congratulations to the Phi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau at Southeastern Louisiana University on earning eight national awards at Alpha Sigma Tau’s 46th National Convention in Minneapolis. Among the honors received were the prestigious Founders Award, the highest recognition a chapter can achieve, and the Edward Jervey/Martha DeCamp Award. Phi Chapter was one of only three chapters nationwide to receive the Founders Award and the only collegiate chapter to earn the Edward Jervey/Martha DeCamp Award.
💛The chapter was recognized for excellence in recruitment, retention, health and safety, campus involvement, sisterhood, and communications. Congratulations also to Phi Chapter alumna and advisor Rita Bertolino, who received the Carrie W. Staehle Award for her exceptional service and dedication to the chapter and Alpha Sigma Tau.
💚Alpha Sigma Tau’s Phi Chapter at Southeastern Louisiana University was recently recognized by the national organization for demonstrating excellence within the 2024-2026 biennium. Awards were announced at Alpha Sigma Tau’s 46th National Convention in Minneapolis last month. 🩷Tonight we had 14 chapters represented at our final GBRAP delegate meeting for 2025–2026. We elected our new executive board members for 2026–2027 and are excited to begin planning new events for this fall.
