🌟 Celebrating Our Young Leader: Kamryn Curley! 🌟

We're so excited to share the amazing accomplishments of Kamryn Curley from Shenandoah Elementary!

🏆 Achievements:

1st Place out of 65 students in her school's essay competition!

Recognized as the overall essay winner among 11 schools by our very own Dare Instructor Deputy Stonaker.

Crowned District Champion in the Capital Area District, securing 1st place out of 7 parishes.

Proudly became the State Runner-Up, earning a trophy and cash prize at the Louisiana State D.A.R.E. Conference held on July 23rd, 2026, in New Orleans, LA!

Kamryn showcased her excellent communication skills by confidently presenting her heartfelt essay at Shenandoah’s DARE graduation ceremony. Her clarity and confidence made a strong impression on Deputy Stonaker, who was evaluating all the remarkable essays.

Let’s celebrate Kamryn’s success as a community! Her journey reminds us of the incredible potential our youth can achieve with the support of dedicated parents and mentors. 💬✨

☀️ Summer Spotlight: LORI Summer Camp

One of the highlights of our summer was spending time with the incredible campers at LORI Summer Camp!

Our D.A.R.E. Officers, Deputy Stonaker and Deputy Jackson, had the opportunity to engage students in meaningful conversations about:
💚 Bullying
💚 Managing stress
💚 Resisting peer pressure
💚 Making positive choices

These discussions encouraged campers to think through real-life situations, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to make safe and responsible decisions.

At the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office, community engagement continues beyond school hours. Whether we're attending summer camps, community events, or visiting classrooms, our goal is consistent—fostering positive relationships and supporting future generations.

Thank you to LORI Summer Camp for welcoming our team. We enjoyed every opportunity to connect with these amazing young people!
