Shoutout to the best volunteers, they are Street Diplomats. It’s a beautiful thing to see people show up who are in their 60’s down to the young people in college and elementary school showing up to support.

Tell me what Julia “Lay Low” Letlow has done to help bring jobs to the region to be elected a U.S. Senator? These people aren’t serious but the consequences of them being in office is.

I’m asking you to support .flowers for Justice of the Peace, District 4. We need fresh leadership and people who are ready to serve the community.

Taneshia is a former educator, realtor and developer who now works as a communications director. A graduate of Scotlandville High and Southern University, she brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to North Baton Rouge.

Too often we say we want change, but change requires us to put new people in positions of leadership. This is an opportunity to give a young leader who loves this community the chance to serve it.

Taneshia needs volunteers and contributions. No amount of time or money is too small. We can all do our part to bring change to this parish.

They funded reparations at Civics for the People. 😂🦾

During our government simulation, each group had to decide how to spend its budget. The federal government put $1 billion toward reparations — and made food and poverty a priority.

I didn’t tell them to do that. They made the choice.

We talk about crime, education and healthcare all the time, but we don’t talk enough about the root causes — including poverty.

This is Civics for the People — learning how government works by putting the power in the hands of the people.

Next stop: Shreveport, September 26th. Registration opens this week.
