Join us for a garden tour on Tuesday August 31 from 4:30-6:30.
Here are some garden memories. Come join us this Tuesday for our Open House. Advisory Board Members and Gardeners will be on hand to ‘show how we grow’.
Lots of activity today. Sprucing things up for our upcoming open house. And all generations harvesting from their beds and our shared plots. Come on Out to The Garden on August 31. 2021, 4:30-6:30 pm. If you like it, you can sign up for next year! Our team from the Arc joined us to lend a hand.

Fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers abound right now at the City of Batavia Community Garden. In its 9th year of operation, the garden started small and has expanded each year and now has almost 50 beds available for lease.

If you’d like to learn more about it and see it first hand, the Garden Advisory Board and current gardeners are hosting an open house to take you on a tour.

Join us on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 any time between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm.

There are currently plans to expand the garden next year. There will likely be plenty of ready to plant raised beds available for lease at a reasonable cost.

Master Gardeners are on hand to assist with gardening tips and tricks and pest management. Gardeners are expected to help maintain common areas if they can.
The donated pumpkin plants are thriving. We may need a lottery to see which gardener gets this beauty.
Many hands make for light work. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to the recent work days.
All hands on deck for the upcoming Community Garden work session. Our vegetables are flourishing which goes the same for the weeds. Join us Friday July 9 at 8:30 or Sunday July 11 at 8:30. If you enjoy eradicating pesky weeds and engaging in enlightening conversation, we welcome you. There may even be some harvest to share, most definitely fresh raspberries for picking.

Thanks to the help of garden members, friends, family, ARC, CY farms and the Cooperatove Extension Team, things are set to go for the official opening this Saturday.

There are still a few raised garden beds available for lease. Come visit us on Saturday from 10-noon.
Nothing planned today? Come on up to the garden and we will put you to work and buy you lunch! United Way Day of Caring is happening. Garden will be all set to open on Saturday.
Stephanie Benson doesn’t live in Batavia, but when she learned about it wanted to sponsor 5 plots for new gardeners wnd donated $100 to cover the fee. She and her nephew Chandler were given a tour today by gardeners Nancy Wee and Deborah Kerr-Rosenbeck.

There are still 2 plots available if someone wants to give it a try. You must be a city resident to qualify for the first come first serve offer.

This self directed young lady finalized her first year as a member of the community garden. Lilah, who is almost 11 years old pitches in wherever needed, going above and beyond taking care of her own garden plot. She is articulate and confident to ask questions and share her ideas.
Thank you Lilah for your help this morning. We sure hope you return to the garden next year.

Lilah is the daughter of Michael Guarino and Jen Guarino.
