Tomorrow we leave Fort Myers, FL and head home to Bandera, TX. We've had to make a change of plans and are scaling back our business from full-time. I'm turning a page back (financially it will be a very good step forward) and going to work at my old employer, Tower Semiconductor. I'll be doing the same work, but on different tools so it'll be interesting to learn some new tools. We'll be stationary there for the next 4-5 years. Always a pleasure to get a customer's problem resolved. Aquahot 250 propane model, very tight to work on, wasn't working on electric (propane isn't either, but that's work for another day). Found the control thermostat was bad as well as the relay board. Customer replaced the thermostat, I ordered and replaced the relay board. Now all works as it's supposed to. Wheel bearings. In my opinion the only correct way to repack them is to remove them. This enables you to inspect them and the brakes. On this customer's coach (3 axle rig) I found 2 of the brake assemblies on one side had grease flung on the shoes due to failed seals, bearings had been overheated, and the bearings had been overgreased by the factory. When using the zirk grease fitting it is too easy to put too much grease in and push it past the seal. In this case I ended up replacing all 6 brake assemblies along with all of the bearings and seals.

Sometimes things break on the techs coach. Dishwasher was tipping out. Found the mounting screws had backed and didn't tighten well. Put 3 morescrews through the bottom plate. Nice and secure now. Also, if you have one you can find the diagnostics and wiring diagram in the back.

Had the pleasure of helping a customer with Parkinsons. A previous company had installed a jacknife sofa in front of a TV on a televator, but the sofa was taller than expected. So the customer wanted the televator removed and the sofa put into the slide. A platform had been overbuilt which took awhile to remove (who uses 3" screws to secure 3/4" plywood to 2x4's?) then I had to get the sofa squared up.

Sometimes the fix is easy even if it takes awhile to find. Customer's dryer wasn't heating. Apparently someone didn't connect the heater. This is a 2026 Luxe that was "checked out" by the dealer.

Drained old fluid from an aquahot today. Also blew out the heat exchangers so the system could have a fresh start with green transfer fluid. According to the customer the previous tech put in a "special blend". Do not use anything but Century pre-mixed transfer fluid. There are 2 they make, one green, one pink. Don't mix them. The dark stuff is what I took out.

Customer had a macerator toilet making noise and a pivoting door with a broken track. Got the track screwed back up and better supported. Removed an obstruction from the macerator.

New bottom pocket door guide made and installed. Also added screws to the upper rail since there weren't any.
