So, in my opinion this has nothing to do with being a “club DJ.” It’s most likely a budget issue and a lack of knowledge on what it takes to execute a wedding as a the DJ.

This is actually how I got started into weddings. Couples would reach out to ne and ask me to bring my Club/Party energy to their wedding day experience. I would bring the best speakers out with that club energy,clean mixing and transitions,and a highly perfected performance mixed with the ability to MC all by myself.

The issue isn’t whether someone is a club DJ. It’s whether they understand wedding formats. Weddings require a completely different skill set than keeping people dancing or buying drinks.

Some Club DJs can absolutely crush weddings. Some of the best wedding DJs I know came from clubs like myself. I just hope this helps someone do their research when choosing who will entertain your guest on one of the biggest days of your LIFE. Theres no second chances or do overs. It’s not worth it in my opinion just to save a few dollars. You’ll ALWAYS get what you pay for.

But being able to rock a nightclub and being able to guide a wedding day from start to finish are just two totally different skills sets that both require mastery. The difference isn’t where you learned to DJ. It’s whether you took the time to learn the art of how to do weddings.
